TOWARDS A SUSTAINABLE and INTEGRATED ENERGY SYSTEM

This is the First Call for Papers for the 2012 International Word Energy System Conference (WESC), to
be held on June 28-30, 2012 in Romania, hosted by the University “Stefan cel Mare” of Suceava.
“Stefan cel Mare” University is a reputable institution situated in a beautiful region rich in unique
historical landmarks. The Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from the “Stefan cel
Mare” University is well known for its excellence and collaboration with other international institutions.

Previous WES conferences were held in Targoviste, Romania (2010), Iasi Romania (2008), Torino, Italy
(2006), Oradea, Romania (2004), Tokyo, Japan (2002), Irkusk, Russia (2000), and Toronto, Canada (1996
and 1998). Past conferences attracted practitioners in the power industry and members from the academia
from many countries and continents.

The aim of the 2012 International World Energy System Conference is to support an integrated energy
system through competitive, reliable, sustainable and secure energy solutions.

Selected articles will be published in Advances in Electrical and Computer Engineering (ISI impact
factor: 0,700)

JOURNAL PUBLICATIONS – SPECIAL ISSUES (Elsevier)


The best papers will be selected for publication in the Electric Power System Research journal (Elsevier)
or in the Energy journal (Elsevier). The authors of selected papers will be invited to send an enhanced
version subject to a review process. The Guest Editors managing the journal’s publications are
Gianfranco Chicco, Radu Pentiuc and Puica Nitu.

PAPERS

The abstract is up to one page in free format. The full paper has a maximum of 8 pages. A template for the paper
will be posted on the Conference site. The official language of the conference is English.

CONFERENCE FEES and REGISTRATION

The registration fees for participants includes: Workshop Attendance, Conference Proceedings, Coffee breaks,
Welcome Reception, a Traditional Conference Dinner. The registration fees are 100 € for participants registered
before May 1, 2012, 150 € after May 1, 2012 and 25 € for students. For Suceava county tour extra fee 100 €. For
inclusion of an accepted paper in the Conference Proceedings, at least one author of the paper must register at the
Conference.
