Formal Brief
A formal brief is a document written in a way that contains in depth
detail information about the product the client wants, this brief
describes what the client wants and explains the best way to achieve
the set criteria.
Informal Brief
An informal brief is not a documented brief and is often the client
addressing the employer in a verbal manner, the brief usually
doesn’t go into extreme detail and it's just basic information that’s
usually discussed.
Advantages of an Informal Brief
In a formal brief it is much easier for an employee and client to
discuss ideas and come to a mutually agreed conclusion of
what they each think is right
An employee often feels less stressed working under these
kinds of briefs as they feel like they have more creative liberty
Tender Brief
A tender brief is when a client announces a that they need a brief
made and when noticed, production companies tend to produce
briefs and present them to the client, these briefs often feature
some basic information about the product and its deadline and
budget.

A commission brief is when a company hires a small indepentant
company to make a product based off of the ideas the larger
company already has
Advantages of a Commission Brief
The client is clear with what they want you to do and you have
been giving the right equipment to do it
If you make a good enough product the client might hire you
for more tasks

A contractual brief is a legal document which outlines the services
the employee owns the client, and how the employee should go
about completing them, it also features the deadline and budget.
