Q1. If scientists/researcher collect the research data from data/digital repositories collected by
someone else for his/her research projects, how this reliable to get the research funds from funding
agencies especially in India?

Q2. The most research scholars in India are unaware of practices of research data management, data
sources, data repositories etc. since it is not part of their course work even in the top academic &
research institutes in India. Do you think it should be included in part of course work to create
awareness for early career researcher?

Q3. Generally scientists/researchers are think that collected research data very useful for other
researcher, but they are not ready to share their own data. How do we make them to share research
data? And what are the regulation guidelines if need to be developed?

Q4. Since data generated by the project researcher under the supervision of principle investigator (PI),
who affiliated XYZ institute and research funded by ABC research funding agency. In this case who hold
the Intellectual Property Right/Copyright rights of data generated?

Q5. A study undertaken on “An Evaluation of Indian Research Funding Agencies: Policies and
Guidelines” found that the most of Indian research funding agencies are not having guidelines and
policies on data management and sharing. And also none of them has included proper research data
policies like DMP requirement, data sharing, data curation, data storage etc. Do you think this is the
right time to Indian research funding agencies to formulate the proper policies on data management
& sharing?

Q6. There are many research stakeholders i.e. funding agencies, researcher, principle investigator (PI),
and institute leadership including libraries efforts need to be made for effective managing research data
through research lifecycle. Do you think who can play major role, and how and what are hindrances
they can face?

Q7. Should institutional framework of RDM required to managing research data properly at institutional
level, if yes what are the elements should be included in such frameworks?
