have embraced it.

It does not only can be in as a financial contribution, but it can also include time
and resources (Lazzari, 2018). Corporate philanthropy is an activity that

economic, social, and environmental (Chen, 2019).

As the use of corporate responsibility becomes more popular and comm


becoming extremely important for companies to have a socially consciou
(Schooley, 2019). At the moment of choosing a brand or a company, cons
e m p l o y e e s a n d s t a k e h o l d e r s a r e b e g i n n i n g t o p r i o r i t i z e C S R ( S c h o o l e y, 2 0 1 9 ) .

CSV stands for creating shared value, which is about creating new pol
operating procedures that allow your company to maximize its revenues, but a
o ff e r b e n e f i t s t o t h e l o c a l c o m m u n i t y ( G a t l e y, 2 0 1 6 ) . I t w a s f i r s t m e n t i o n e d i n a n
article published in 2011 in the Harvard Business Review by Michael Porte
M a r k K r a m e s ( G a t l e y, 2 0 1 6 ) .

Philanthropy is a simply a way to reinvest wealth in a cause while, if a corporation

i s v i e w e d ( L a z z a r i , 2 0 1 8 ) . H o w e v e r, i f a c o m p a n y f a i l s t o i m p l e m e n t C S R , i t w o u l d
have a negative reputation (Lazzari, 2018). The CSR programs are hands-

of its business model (Lazzari, 2018).

and growth at the front and center of the picture, while CSR looks at the business

It is important for both the companies and consumers to start acting ethical
order to reduce waste and CO2 emission. However, I believe that the

however if big corporations keep doing bad practices that damage the planet,

SDGs is targeted to be achieved by 2030, however, if we continue th

Gender equality is the SDG I believe is important to achieve by 2030. Nowada


people believe is a problem already solved as women now have the same rights as

At the moment, according to the 2019 Sustainable Development Goals Index and
Dashboards Report, 11 EU Member States have a score of more than 80 out of 100
f o r Su s t a i n a b l e D e v e l o p m e n t G o a l 5 o n g e n d e r e q u a l i t y . S w e d e n , F i n l a n d a n d F r a n c e
are in the lead, scoring above 87 and ranking respectively 2 nd, 3rd and 5th
worldwide (European Commission, 2019). However, the reality is that even in the
EU, where unequivocal gender equality is secured by law, equality between women
and men is still not a tangible reality for too many (European Commission, 2019).

Furthermore, also cultural changes need to be made, a culture has to be created in


the company that makes employees feel accepted. It is important to create a work
e n v i r o n m e n t w h e r e t h e r e i s n o s e x u a l h a r a s s m e n t o r w h e r
microaggressions.

But most importantly the pay gap should be removed. Pay should not be based on
gender but on the job role a person plays in the company. Moreover,

to avoid misunderstandings.
