The study was primarily conducted to measure the level of
effectiveness of BPAT members of Barangay Matiao, City of Mati, Davao Oriental. Additionally, it was undertaken to measure the level of satisfaction of the residents on the performance of BPAT members of their work in the barangay. The study was descriptive in nature. It gathered quantitative data using two sets of survey questionnaires which were crafted by the researchers. These questionnaires were pilot tested and resulted to a0.902 reliability. Questionnaires were also tested for validity by experts. The first set of questionnaire was intended for the BPAT members. A total of twenty (20) BPAT members were able to accomplish the questionnaire. For the second set, a total of three hundred ninety (390) respondents were determined using Slovin’s formula and were selected using convenience sampling. Data gathering commenced thereafter. After data collection, gathered data were tabulated and analysed using percentages, frequency counts, mean and ranking. Data were presented descriptively using tables. The study revealed that the level of effectiveness of BPAT members was very effective with an over-all mean of 4.94. Going deeper, the BPAT members were very effective in crime prevention (mean=4.83), very effective in maintaining peace (mean=4.99) and order and very effective in community response (mean=5.00). As to the level of satisfaction, data showed that the residents of Barangay Matiao were neither satisfied nor dissatisfied with the BPAT members’ performance of their work with an over-all mean of 2.98. In terms of crime prevention, maintenance of peace and order and community response, the level of satisfaction was neither satisfied nor dissatisfied with a mean of 3.03, 2.89 and 2.96, respectively.
