OFFLINE TASK 1:

Respond critically to the following questions.

1. Define oppression and discuss how it affects Philippine society.

Oppression is malicious or unfair, often in the cover of a government authority or cultural
reproach. Based on how it carries out, injustice can be transparent or hidden. Also, it applies to
oppression where inequality is not aimed at all in society and does not directly affect them but
affects specific groups of people.
It affects the Philippine society because one thing that is plastered by an oppressive
society is that "it's how it is, and it won't change." All of society perpetuates the illusion that it is
the ultimate and greatest thing possible. And it seeks to put such an impression on us, us, in the
beginning, trying to change society. Part of the injustice is that we are uncertain about what is
going on in society.

2. Explain dramatic situation and discuss its effects in a literary work.

A dramatic situation in which characters embroiled in conflicts involving empathetic
participation of the viewer in their difficulty is a situation in a narrative or dramatic work.
Nevertheless, as the action takes place, the tense scenario becomes more incremental. It can
occur in plays that use suspense to catch our attention when recognizing certain points of
interest. And when we consider that its essence is deeper and more nuanced than it was in its first
appearance in the story or that its essence shifts in ways it will pay attention to it.
