2020 GHS Homecoming Royalty

The votes were tallied, and the Scotties elected the
following seniors as their King & Queen Candidates
(from left): Aubre Hartsock, Colten Fast, Rachelle
Glaser, Aden Zoanni, Erika Blake, and Cooper Larson.
The Scotties host Colstrip on October 2nd with the
theme “Crush the Colts” (Glasgow hosts Harlem
tomorrow night). There are a lot of guidelines in place
for the 2020 celebration. Coronation will be closed to
the public but will be streamed on Nemont TV. It will
be held in the gymnasium rather than the customary
auditorium. Fortunately all the high school students
will be allowed to attend. The parade will take place at
2:30 Friday afternoon with a longer route to encourage
social distancing. It will begin as normal from the
Glasgow Civic Center and go down Front Street. It will
hang a left turn past Markle’s Warehouse Furniture and
another left to travel east up 2nd Avenue South (Main
Street). The rest of the route will remain the same.
There will be absolutely NOTHING thrown or delivered
off the floats (unfortunately meaning no candy for
the kids and us older kids with an occasional sweet
tooth!). But despite the guidelines, at least we still get a
parade... Go Scotties!

A great one will be missed
A great Scotty fan has passed. For many years Alvin
Dalby manned the chains at the Scotty football games
and never missed a home basketball game.
The girls’ basketball teams was one of his great loves
following the girls at home and away for many years.
Alvin kept the books for all three squads (freshmen, JV
and varsity) at away games and the books or clock at
home.
Another one of his great loves was girls’ softball,
coaching and taking the girls in his van all over the state
and beyond.
In my many years spent around Alvin, I never
heard a bad word about any player, team or coach. Alvin
was always positive in both good and bad times
Alvin was a true Scotty FAN!

Hunters should have their wild
game tested prior to donating
Every year hunters across Montana donate
thousands of pounds of wild game to local food banks
through local meat processors.
With the discovery of chronic wasting disease in
Montana, Fish, Wildlife & Parks is urging hunters to
have their deer, elk and moose tested and have a negative
test result in hand prior to donating no matter where in
Montana these animals are harvested.
“We know this will be a shift for both hunters and
processors, but with a little planning ahead, it should
still be a smooth process of getting healthy wild game
from the field to the homes of foodbank customers,”
said Ken McDonald, Wildlife Division Administrator
with FWP.
