d. Discussion of my PLLP with my School Head

COMPONENT III: Reflection

a. Experience in doing the PLLP

Designing and crafting the Personal Lifelong Learning Plan is not just a piece of cake because it takes patience, courage and
prayers to accomplish such one. The very first thing I did was to revisit and review the seven 21 st century literacies. I was able to read
every detail and internalize by heart the meaning of each of the following literacies. After reading, I assessed my level of competency
in each literacy based on my experience as a classroom teacher. I really need to assess myself if I am already adept with the KSAV in
each literacy because this will help me later on what literacy should be improved and maintained. I was able to evaluate myself from
weak to strong. I found it difficult in identifying the target KSAVs. It took me days to think about it. Identifying the self-learning
activities and time frame was somewhat easy because I had already come up with the very gist of the plan – the target KSAV. I had to
consider also the support resources needed and barriers or challenges that I will be encountering in the implementation of my plan. I
had really difficulty in listing down all the possible barriers that I may encounter in the implementation process. However, finding
solutions is way easier to do than formulating barriers or challenges. In my journey towards the preparation of my personal lifelong
learning plan was indeed challenging yet fulfilling because I was able to manage my time especially that I experienced conflict with
prevailing tasks in school and at home. What I love the most in the preparation of my PLLP is that we have a flexible learning tutor
who keeps on reminding us on what to do with our assigned task. We were really guided because of the very systematic and organized
mechanics, instructions and directions of our assignment. It was indeed an amazing and new learning experience. From honest to
goodness, this was my first time preparing such learning plan but amazingly made it by God’s grace. Writing Personal Lifelong
Learning Plan is such a difficult task but once accomplished it will be worth it because this will help me become focused and directed
in my personal development and it will be an avenue for me to manage my students’ learning and develop the knowledge, skills,
attitudes, and values they need to succeed in their journey as students and for their future work endeavor.

b. Insights in doing the PLLP

This Personal Lifelong Learning Plan serves as my compass towards improving myself to the fullest. This plan will help and
guide me to the right path on how to teach and touch the lives of our learners productively. This plan opens the window of new
learning opportunity and discovery particularly in adapting to the changes and trends of the 21 st century education. This will help me
embrace more the passion of teaching and to be a better version of myself. This will serve as a venue for us to think of innovative
ways and contributions to the global society as a teacher and as a responsible citizen.
Writing and preparing my Personal Lifelong Plan is an effective scheme in evaluating myself as a 21 st century teacher. We are
responsible in lighting the torch of our learners for a brighter future ahead of them thus this PLLP will be of great help for me as a
bearer of knowledge. Through this accomplished plan, I was able to identify, assess, and evaluate myself if I am really furnished with
the necessary knowledge, skills, attitudes and values needed in the 21st century education and in the fast changing society to address
the educational needs of our 21st century learners. This new learning opportunity particularly in creating our own personal lifelong
learning serves as a tool for us to evaluate our effectiveness, efficiency and mastery in the field of teaching.
Writing the PLLP was not a one day task. It took time and effort to accomplish an outstanding accomplishment. It made me
reflect from time to time on what things should be done first. The knowledge, skills, attitudes and values that I have gained from this
SEAMEO learning experience contributed meaningfully in carrying out my goals and vision about professional growth and
development. I learned a lot also from my school head because she provided me a lot from feedback giving to recommendation phase.
Learning from her rich experiences is absolutely amazing and made me realize my worth as a teacher. I was inspired by her words of
wisdom, encouragement and pieces of advice.
Through this new learning experience, I was determined and motivated to pursue and learn more about 21 st century education
and also gave me a clear direction towards improving myself and contributing to social progress without reservation.
