BRIDGE ENGINEER

Responsibilities:
At office:
 Estimation of all bridge and culvert’s concrete, reinforcement, excavation, backfill, CC block, PVC pipe
according to stage of construction.
 Estimate the lowest possible time of completing bridge and culvert. And identify the cause of delaying.
 Understanding of civil functions e.g. civil working drawings, site preparation etc.
 Translate complex engineering concepts and find the solutions.
 Identify the errors of working drawings and report to update it accordingly.
 Prepare and submit the method statements, necessary drawings and resubmit it according to consultant’s
comments.
 Prepare checklist for reinforcement, concrete pouring, formwork, pile construction record etc.
 Make ready the all report and presentation for weekly, monthly, annual meeting.
 Prepare the all necessary pictorial documents in every stage of construction process.
 Issue, monitor, update and close the all related RFI (Request For Inspection)'s of culvert and bridge.
 Liaise professionally with the consultants and maintaining and developing professional relationships.
At Site:
 Day to day follow up of the project site works and reporting to the Construction Manager.
 Monitor the implementation of design throughout the entire project life cycle, from initial concepts to
construction and operation.
 Maintain pictorial evidence of every single stage of construction.
 Responsible for bridge site works e.g. river training ,working pile, pilot/test pile, pile cap, abutment, seismic
restrainer, ballast retainer, pedestal bearing, backfilling arrangements behind the bridge etc.
 Responsible for culvert site works e.g. ground treatment, excavation, backfilling, blinding concrete, base and
cut-off wall, box wall, wing wall, top slab, ballast retainer, wearing coat, backfilling arrangements behind the
culvert etc.
 Ensure the proper health, safety, environmental system and hygienic workplace. Report all unsafe conditions to
the concern authority.
 Conduct fortnightly technical meeting with supervisor, foreman, workers.
