ION CHAMBER COMPATIBILITY NOTES

The Apelem “Preampli Cellule” Preamp is compatible with the 734614-13 AEC board provided that
the following requirement is met:

(i) Apelem “Preampli Cellule”

• The AEC type setting (in the x-ray generator) must be set to Apelem using the console’s
AEC setup menu or CPI Genware software.
• Apelem’s J1 pin 7 must be connected to J1 pin 7 of the 734614-13 AEC board. The
negative ramp output is at Apelem’s J1 pin 8 connector pin.

AID compatible Chambers with Preamps come with a standard 9 pin D-Sub connector. If a D-Sub
connector is not available, chamber cable has flying leads or easy access to the preamp’s jumpers is
not available, then AEC boards with WECO connectors are used. All AID Preamps, listed in Table 1,
are compatible with ICX Series 100 and 900 Chambers with the following exceptions or inclusions:

(ii) AID Preamp 60667I

• Chambers ICX150 to ICX152 and ICX176 have chamber field configuration set as 1-2-3
(field II= pin 2 and field I= pin 3).

(iii) AID Preamps 60917F, H, 61135A and 61154C

• Chamber ICX176 has chamber field configuration set as 1-2-3
(field II= pin 2 and field I= pin 3).

(iv) AID Preamps 60917F, H, 61135C, D, J, 61137A, 61150A and 61154C, J

• Chambers ICX187, ICX192R, ICX904, ICX935R, ICX963 has chamber field configuration set as
3-1-2 (field II= pin 6 and field III= pin 2).

(v) AID Preamp 61170S, T

• Chambers ICX2122, ICX3122, ICX3954 are compatible.
• The older versions of the 61170S and 61170T Preamps had the OUTPUT (Positive or
Negative) which is not selectable and was specified at time of purchase.

(vi) For all the AID Preamps listed in Table 1

• Chamber D-Sub cables are provided by AID
• A 737998-00 AEC board can be used provided that the jumper settings to the Preamp
can be set to active low field select and reset, with a positive ramp.
• Preamp 61135L does not have a 9 pin D-Sub connector and therefore must use the
734614-08 AEC board having the WECO connector.

(vii) The following statements apply to the compatibility of the chambers to the preamps:
• The Claymount Preamp SSMC 1001 is a direct replacement/equivalent for the Comet AG
Preamp PA 101.
• Both the above Preamps allow connection to either the Claymount SSMC 500 series Solid
State Chambers or the Comet AG “Telamat” series Solid State Chambers.

RMS Fischer Medical Systems 168-03-111-1 Preamp and Chamber is compatible provided that the
jumpers are correctly set as follows:

• Jumpers should be set to: 1-2, 5-6, 11-12 and 15-16.

VacuTec Preamp 70901, listed in Table 1, is compatible with 70140, 70141, 70145, 70151
Chambers. Chamber D-Sub cables are provided by VacuTec.

The 70140, 70141, 70145, 70151 Chambers may be used with Preamp 70902 if the following
requirement is met:

• A VacuTec Ramp Module, 9020011, is provided.

All AID Preamps, listed in Table 1, are compatible with ICX Series 100 and 900 Chambers with the
following exceptions or inclusions:

(i) AID Preamp 60667I

• Chamber ICX110 can be used if an AID# 75075-xx ICX110 Adapter Cable (14-pin AMP M
Series connector to 9-pin Male D-Sub connector) is used.
• Chambers ICX150 to ICX152 and ICX176 can be used provided that an AID# 75020-xx
“Continental 2-1-3 / 1-2-3 Conversion Ion Chamber Cable” is used (cable swaps pins 2 & 3).

(ii) AID Preamps 60917F, H, 61135A and 61154C

• Chamber ICX176 can be used provided that an AID# 75020-xx Conversion Cable is used.

(iii) AID Preamps 60917F, H, 61135C, D, J, 61137A, 61150A and 61154C, J
