Research question:

Is there a relationship between fertilizer use (recommended use 1100mg) and knowledge about
fertilizers of farmers in (state area)?

Hypotheses:

H1 : There is a correlation between fertilizer use and knowledge about fertilizer of farmers in state area
(r ≠ 0)

It can be perceived from the scatter plot that the points are reasonably closely scattered about an
underlying straight line, so we say there is a strong linear relationship between the two variables. The
scatter plot implies that as the knowledge score increases so the fertilizer use increases. This shows a
positive linear relationship. Pearson's coefficient of linear correlation is a measure of this strength. The
above information illustrates positive correlation – one variable increases as the other increases.

Results: From the Correlations table, it can be seen that the correlation coefficient (r) equals 0.878,
indicating a strong relationship, as mentioned earlier. p < 0.001 and indicates that the coefficient is
significantly different from 0.

Conclusion: We can conclude that there is evidence that knowledge about fertilizer is related to fertilizer
use . As such, it seems that the more a famer knows about fertilizers, the closer the recommended
value for fertilizers will be (r = 0.88, p <0.001).

 The interpretation of the slope (value = 12.42696) is that fertilizer use increases 12.42696 units, on average, for
each one unit increase in the knowledge score.
 The interpretation of the intercept (value=420.666116) is that if there should be a case with knowledge score = 0,
the predicted average for the use of fertilizer would be 420.666116 for that score. Since there are no farmer with
knowledge score = 0 this interpretation of the intercept is not practically meaningful for this example.

Conclusion: Based on the information obtained there is a relationship of farmer’s knowledge of fertilizer to fertilizer use.
As the knowledge score increases by 1 unit , fertilizer use increases to the recommended value (1100mg)
