MEMORANDUM

To: Caitlin Hills

From: Nicco Blank
Date: September 20, 2020
Subject: Personal Brand Narrative

I am writing you today to summarize my findings in the Personal Brand Narrative assignment.
This memo will give you a better understanding of my professional communication strengths. I
will be demonstrating these findings in two parts within this document. Part 1 contains self-
reflection answers that reveal my individual strengths, values, and mentality. Part 2 contains
information regarding the responses I received from the individuals that I sent the Outside
Leadership Evaluation (OLE) form to.

Part 1
Three words that I believe best describe me as an individual are “hard-working”, “dedicated”,
and “open-minded”. I think something that is unique about me that leads me to my happiest
times is that I do not shy away from persevering. I understand, and enjoy, that some of my goals
and aspirations require me to grind. I believe that makes me better at whatever I am pursuing
and ultimately leads me to my best performance. Honestly, I aim to spend most of my time
outside of my comfort zone, so I do not frequently have the feeling of “natural”. I will say that I
use affirmations centered around building confidence to feel “right” in my uncomfortable
situations.
My signature strengths are that I am open to criticism, I am a good listener, and I am not afraid
to experiment with new things. I can use these signature strengths to learn, act, and grow as an
individual. I value giving whatever I am working on/pursuing my best efforts and learning
something new as frequently as possible. I must give much credit to my baseball career for
shaping the person that I am today. There are numerous things of value that the game taught
me but a few of the most significant lessons I have learned are:

• how to deal with failure

• how to get along with people with different perspectives, opinions, and cultures
• how to compete and push myself to be better than the day before

Part 2
I received four responses from the Outside Leadership Evaluation (OLE) in my document. The
most common virtual tools that respondents use to stay in touch with me are email and phone. I
am aware that I spend more time and effort using these tools compared to the other tools in the
OLE. I prefer to use these two tools because they allow me to satisfy both written and verbal
communication when face-to-face communication is not feasible.
It is difficult to determine whether the answers to my self-reflection questions correspond to the
questions the PeopleStyles Assessment. The PeopleSyles Assessment seems to be geared
toward revealing my communication mannerisms where my self-reflection made me realize my
individual strengths, values, and mentality. There were some common themes in the responses
from the OLE regarding the words that described me. “Hard-working”, “dedication”, and
“thoughtful” are all words that were listed multiple times. I was not surprised by the responses
because I received them from my business partners and close mentors. I frequently discuss
topics like the ones in the OLE with them so I had a good idea how they would answer those
questions.
This memo summarized my findings in the Personal Brand Narrative assignment. Part 1
demonstrated various self-reflection answers that revealed my individual strengths, values, and
mentality. Part 2 contained information regarding the responses I received from the individuals
that I sent the Outside Leadership Evaluation (OLE) form to. Thank you for your time. If you
