Dear Professor Miller
Re: Documents/information relating to obesity, effects of advertising or
associated food Issues under Freedom of Information Act 2000
‘Thank you for your email dated 6 March 2005.
You enquired why emails had not been included in my letier of 3 March. The reason is
that the Agency does not have a central system for recording emails and it would
therefore be too expensive to collate this information. As you know, the Act makes
provision for public authorities to refuse requests for information where the cost of
dealing with the request would exoeed the appropriate limit.
In your new request you have requested documents/correspendence from and to the
FSA on the following
* Copies of all documents relating to the following meetings (including emails) the
FDF (13.1.04, 16.6.04 & 7.10.04)
* Copies of correspondence (including emails), agendas, minutes and all associated
documentation relating to the following: Cadbury Schweppes (6.12.04), FOF
(4.10.04 and 23.6.04),
‘Agency's meetings with ISBA (21.6.04), FAU and Cadbury Schweppes
Agency meetings with the BRC (10.6.05)
FAU (23.2.04)
Copies of agenda, minutes and associated documentation for the meetings held
between the deputy minister of Health and Community Care and McDonalds, Asda,
Pepsico, Coca Cola and SFDF
* Copies of all correspondence or documentation in relation to the following
organisations in 2004: Asda, Associated British Foods, Burger King, British Soft
Drinks Association, Cadbury Schweppes, Consensus Action on Sait Health, Heinz,
Kellogg's, Kraft, McDonalds, Meat and Livestock Commission, Ministry of Defence,
Munro and Foster, Nestle, Pepsico, Sodexho, Tesco and Unilever. After careful consideration we have concluded that whether collating and sending you the
above information alone or aggregating the cast of your two requests, it would exceed £600,
However, we would be happy to consider a subsequent request, bearing in mind the
above. If you wish to apply once again and narrow the request, for instance to notes of,
‘the mesting or to the correspondence with a reduced number of organisations, then
the request would be less likely to exceed £600.
If you have any queries about this letter, please contact me. Please remember to quote
the reference number above in any future correspondence.
if you are unhappy with the decisions made in relation to your request from the Agency, you
may ask for an internal review by writing to:
Miss Barbara Richards,
Head of Corporate Secretariat,
Room 620B, Aviation House,

Yours sincerely
