 Finite and Infinite Sets

Definition 1.25
The cardinality of a finite set A, denoted by
n(A), is the number of elements of A..
Example 1.26
Consider the finite sets in Example 1.3, namely,
sets A, B and D. Clearly, we have
n(A) = 5, n(B) = 86 and n(D) = 0.

In a Venn diagram, the Universal set U is usually
represented by a rectangular, while the other sets
that are subsets of U are represented by circles,
triangles, and other closed geometric figures.
