    Nomenclature of Refractory terms

    1. DP - Dry Press.
    2. PN - Pneumatic Ramming.
    3. HM - Hand Molding.
    4. SD - Semi-Dry.
    5. RM - Ramming Mass.
    6. SP - Strip Plasting.
    7. HM/C - Hand Molding and Cutting.

    All the above denotes the Process by which refractory are made.
    (For example HA70-30 DP, in this the last two letters denotes the
    Process and the first two letters denotes the Quality).

    1. AR - Alkali Resistant.
    2. SL - Silluminate based.
    3. HG - High Grog.
    4. HA - High Alumina.
    5. MH - Moderate Heat.
    6. SR - Special R.U.L.
    7. SFC - Special Flow Castable.
    8. HS - High Strength.
    9. ZR - Zirconia Based.
    10. HH - High Heat.
    11. CA - Corundum Alumina
    12. SC - Special CCS (Cold Crushing Strength)
    13. PCPF - Pre-Cured Pre-Fired.
    14. SP - Special Porosity.
    15. ARX - Alkali Resistant Extra.
    16. SD - Special Density.

    If SD is used at the end (HA 70 30 SD) it is High Alumina Brick


    manufactured by Semi Dry Process.

    If SD is used at the beginning (HASD 70 30 DP),it is High Alumina


    Special Density manufactured by Dry Press method.
