5 Apakah kepersisan suatu pembaris meter?

Unit terkecil sebatang pembaris meter dapat mengukur ialah 0.1 cm atau 1 mm. Oleh itu, pembaris meter
dikatakan mempunyai kepersisan 0.1 cm atau 1 mm.
The smallest unit that a metre rule can measure is 0.1 cm or 1 mm. Therefore, a metre rule is said to have a precision of
0.1 cm or 1 mm.

Why is mercury used in thermometers? K5  Menilai
Merkuri adalah sensitif kepada perubahan kecil haba. Merkuri akan mengembang apabila panas dan mengecut
apabila sejuk. Di samping itu, warna perak berkilat pada merkuri membolehkan suhunya dibaca dengan mudah.
Merkuri tidak melekat pada permukaan kaca seperti air.
Mercury is sensitive to small changes in heat. It will expand when it is hot and contract when it is cold. Besides, the silver
shiny appearance of mercury makes it easy to read the temperature. Mercury does not stick to the surface of glass unlike
water.

Merkuri adalah bersifat racun. Oleh itu, merkuri adalah berbahaya jika tiub pada termometer pecah. Alkohol
adalah kurang beracun.
Mercury is toxic in nature. So, it is harmful if the tube is broken. Alcohol is less hazardous.

10. Apakah kelebihan penggunaan termometer digital berbanding termometer tradisional?

What is the advantage of using the digital thermometer as compared to the traditional thermometer? K5  Menilai
Termometer digital menyukat suhu badan sebenar dan bukan suhu permukaan seperti yang disukat oleh
termometer tradisional. Termometer tradisional digunakan pada ketiak atau di dalam mulut untuk menyukat
suhu. Ketiak tidak dapat memberi bacaan suhu dalaman. Permukaan badan seperti ketiak atau di bawah
lidah memberi suhu yang berubah-ubah. Persekitaran di luar bagi ketiak dan permukaan basah lidah akan
mempengaruhi bacaan. Termometer digital diletakkan di dalam telinga dan menggunakan laser inframerah untuk
merekod suhu dalaman dengan tepat.
A digital thermometer measures the actual body temperature and not the surface temperature as is the case with traditional
thermometers. Traditional thermometers are used in the armpit or the mouth to measure the temperature. The armpit
does not give the internal temperature reading. The temperature of body surfaces such as the armpit or below the tongue,
fluctuates. The external environment in the armpit and the wet surface of the tongue will influence the reading. A digital
thermometer is placed in the ear and uses infrared laser to record accurately the internal temperature.

orang berzikir. Barang ke mana tuan itu pergi, panah itu dibawanya. Maka tatkala itu Tuan Sidi
Arab itu pun ada menghadap Sultan Muzaffar Syah. Telah tuan itu mendengar khabar Cau
Pandan akan datang ke Melaka itu, maka tuan itu pun berdiri di hadapan baginda. Maka
dihalakannya panahnya itu ke benua Siam. Maka kata Tuan Sidi Arab, sambil menarik
panahnya itu, “Mati engkau, Cau Pandan”.

Maka Sultan Muzaffar Syah pun tersenyum; maka titah baginda pada Tuan Sidi Arab itu,
“Jikalau sungguh mati Cau Pandan, sungguhlah tuan keramat”.

Adapun Cau Pandan itu, lagi di benua Siam, maka berasa kepada dadanya seperti kena
panah, maka Cau Pandan pun sakit muntahkan darah lalu mati. Maka tidaklah jadi Siam
menyerang Melaka, sebab mati Cau Pandan itu. Maka itulah diperbuatkan orang nyanyi :

Cau Pandan anak Bubunnya,

Hendak menyerang ke Melaka;
Ada cincin berisi bunga,
Bunga berladung si air mata.

Southeast Asia (F4 SEA) Championship will return with a world record-breaking
season which will be flagged off at the Sepang International Circuit on Friday.
The 10-round F4 SEA Championship this year will feature a massive 40 races,
more than any other F4 Championship taking place around the globe including in

1 Can a pair of scissors become a tool for empowerment? Can a haircut change the lives of the
underprivileged? Daniel believes so. Daniel and his team give free haircuts to the homeless. Above
the snipping of scissors and the dull buzz of a clipper, the banter and laughter between Daniel and
his customers for the day fill the air. As their hair falls, their smiles brighten. It’s these connections
with the homeless that are at the heart of Daniel’s social initiatives. 5

2 “A pair of scissors is just a tool. What matters is the conversation within the haircut. You have no
idea what that person has gone through, and a haircut is the first step to open up the door to that
relationship.” Coming from a family of artists, it is easy to see why Daniel gravitated towards a
creative career. But to his surprise, his ultimate success was what made him feel restless and empty
inside. He was looking for something more and he would find it with those who had less. 10

3 Daniel’s search for a meaningful use of his skills led him out on the streets of Kuala Lumpur where
he gave free haircuts to the homeless. He knocked on the doors of orphanages and old aged homes
offering his services. Through this simple act of offering a haircut to uplift others, he was able to
find his purpose again. “It’s just amazing when we really put aside money, and you just focus on
the people, something magical just happens during the conversation and that’s what makes me 15
excited about it.”

4 Daniel realised that his skills could also be used to empower youth from underprivileged
communities and began to offering training. He has worked with ex-convicts and ex-addicts, but it
is training of the youth from the Orang Asli community that is closest to his heart.

5 Daniel regularly travels to the village to give free haircuts to the community, and to train some of 20
the youths. When he arrives at the village, he is greeted with warmth, and is soon chatting and
laughing as he and his students cut and colour hair.

6 The village head, Tok Batin, says that jungle work is hard and doesn’t provide a stable income, so
Daniel’s work in the village brings benefits to the community. “I feel happy the youth here have
been studying under Daniel because now they know how to cut hair. With their earnings, they will 25
put the money in the bank to save, and then they will financially support their parents,” he says.

7 The indigenous peoples of Peninsular Malaysia are collectively known as Orang Asli. The 18
Orang Asli subgroups within the Negrito (Semang), Senoi and Aborigen-Malay groups represent
around 210,000 people or 0.7% of the population of Peninsular Malaysia. For thousands of years,
they lived off the jungle. But in modern times, development, logging and palm oil plantations have 30
taken over their lands, and a lack of education and opportunities has made it hard for them to
integrate. Poverty levels in this community remain high, according to a 2015 United Nations report.

8 At the end of the day as Daniel shares a cold drink with his team, there is a look of contentment on
his face. “I’m very excited every time I go to their village, it’s a learning process for me about the 35
whole culture, about the people, about the environment,” he says. “This is where I want to really
journey with them, empower them, and see what I can do with a pair of scissors, to transform their
lives.”
