Can you give me an example of constituent test?
The answer :
In the sentence: "My dog Aristotle bit the postal carrier on the ankle," the constituent parts
are the subject, made up of a Noun Phrase ("my dog Aristotle"), and the predicate, a Verb
Phrase ("bit the postal carrier on the ankle").
A Noun Phrase (abbreviated NP) is made up of a noun and its modifiers. Modifiers that
come before the noun include articles, possessive nouns, possessive pronouns, adjectives,
or participles. Modifiers that come after include prepositional phrases, adjective clauses,
and participle phrases.
A Verb Phrase (VP) is made up of a verb and its dependents (objects, complements, and
modifiers).
Each of the phrases in the sentence can be further broken down into its own constituents.
The Subject NP includes the noun ("Aristotle") and a possessive pronoun and noun ("My
dog") that modify Aristotle. The Verb Phrase includes the verb ("bit"), the NP "the postal
carrier," and the prepositional phrase "on the ankle."

The different about linear order and hierarchical structure
Linear order

-the ordered sequence of words in a sentence

-conform to the grammatical rules

-express the intended meaning

-determine whether a sentence is grammatical and what the sentence means

hierarchical structure

-words in a sentence form groups of their own

-constitutes = the natural and meaning grouping of words in a sentence

-the structure of sentence is hierarchical in the sense that words tht are in the same group
(make up a constituent) have closer relationship with one another

Can you give me example words about statement " English has tenses of verbs while
Indonesia has no similiar concept"?
The answer :
In Indonesian, verbs never change form to show the time. Sometimes the usage of time is
not explicitly marked but conveyed through context. Example:
A: What did you do yesterday?
B: I wrote a letter. Sentence B does not indicate the time because from the context of the
conversation it is clear that what was being discussed was something in the past
(yesterday).

The answer :
his do so test also can be that constituent can be stand alone. that is a test that Verb Phrase
can be discovered via this test.
“john ate it in the kitchen...”
“...and marry did so in th car.”
such in the example, the second sentence could did like what first sentence did

The answer :
Actually there is no sequence for do the test of constituent test because it depend of the
case. Using these tests, not all will work in each case, nor will anyone test necessarily be
conclusive.

The answer :
A circumfix is an affix which has two parts, one placed at the start of a word, and the other
at the end. Circumfixes
contrast with prefixes, attached to the beginnings of words; suffixes, attached at the end;
and infixes, inserted in the middle.
