Pre-Conduction Report

Introduction
Galaxy, the inter hall cultural championship after a successful come back after many years last year is
back again this year. Galaxy is scheduled to be held from 30th March to 4th April, 2010. Meetings
were held to decide the rules and competitions to be held, regulations, schedule, point system etc.
The various decisions taken were in consensus of the following members:
The three pools are allowed to use a sum of INR 45,000 for the preparation and participation in
Galaxy.
Organising Team
The core team would consist of the following:
1. Apporva Krishna Srivastava (General Secretary Cultural Council)
2. Anurag Maheshwari (Overall Co-ordinator)
3. C.Rahul (Overall Co-ordinator)
We shall also include other co-ordinators and other members, but shall disclose them only after the
completion of Galaxy’10.
Point Structure
Any competition held in Galaxy’10, the points shall be awarded finally to the pool. Every competition
has got maximum points, and the points would be awarded as follows:
1 Dance 200
2 Dramatics 200
3 Musicals 200
5 Structures 200
9 Miscellaneous 150
Further details about the competition, schedule and rules shall be uploaded in the Galaxy site. The
schedule, rules and regulations have also been discussed and framed in the same meetings.

Judging Criteria:
Judging Criteria shall be left to the judges.
The Opposition strikes one, the Proposition strikes one. The final topic is taken as the
topic for the house. The teams get 20 minutes to discuss on the topic.
The speaking format is as follows: The Leader of Proposition speaks for 7 minutes,
then the LO speaks for 7 minutes. This is followed by the DLP and the DLO, each for 7
minutes. Then the Proposition whip and the Opposition Whip speak for 7 minutes.
After that are the closing speeches of the Opposition and Proposition for 4 minutes
each.
Rules: Each team has to shoot a video about its pool over the time of preparation
and competition and shall present the video on the final day.
