Introduction

• The Admissions Feedback was an initiative launched for the first time by the student Corporate
Communications Committee for the aspirants of the Batch of 2019, on June 8, 2019
• The purpose of the feedback form was to understand specific pain points of aspirants and
subsequently, to help the Admissions Office devise a strategy to make the MDI admissions process
more efficient and aspirant-friendly
• The link to the Google form was floated through PagalGuy, Facebook and official WhatsApp groups
• A total of 101 responses were collected from the MDI aspirant pool – some of them converted and
joined where some joined other colleges
• The questionnaire was administered under 6 buckets: basic details, MDI Gurgaon: pre-CAT process
2019, MDI Gurgaon: GD-PI process 2019, MDI Gurgaon: Admissions Committee, MDI Gurgaon:
Ecclesia 2019, Miscellaneous (general questions on brand perception and open-ended feedback)

Suggestions

• Almost half the people did not enroll for the program. Therefore, promote the GD-PI program well
from the beginning through different channels like Facebook and PagalGuy.
• Upload Testimonials to bring traction to this program on our YouTube channel and Facebook page
• The GD-PI preparation kit can be more oriented towards the preparation of the students for GD and PI
• The ‘Experience Kit’ needs to be prioritized as students felt this as more helpful
• Instead of releasing multiple comprehensive compendiums, release a shortened, general compendium
• Most people felt mentorship program helpful, so we need to maintain the same pro-activeness.

• Overall the response is positive for the admissions committee and was found helpful by over 98% aspirants
• They were able to answer all the queries in time properly and were approachable
• All the converts were verified and added to the Facebook and WhatsApp groups
• Though students felt that Admissions committee was helpful, most of the students took the decision of joining MDI on
their own. We can help them take the decision in a better way-
• We see that the students usually do secondary research on websites like Quora, Youtube and InsideIIM for knowing
about the college. Presence on these websites help create a positive impact on their decision
• Regular post replies on Quora by students of MDI, along with self-created question-answers
• Organizing competitions and posting the winning entries on social media and InsideIIM as an incentive
• Answering queries can be a little personalized as many felt that answers were copy pasted
• Not everyone is aware of PagalGuy and Facebook groups so many students were unaware of this medium of
communication; this information should be presented in the mails sent out to GD-PI shortlisted candidates

• Ecclesia event was found helpful by many who enjoyed meeting the seniors and future batch mates
• Venue is a problem for some students. We can start Virtual Ecclesia, where few members of adcom can go-live on social
media platforms to answer student queries and doubts

• The process needs to be made more transparent for the students. The functioning of merit rank is an ambiguity for
many students and can be made more clear by using visuals/Youtube video explaining the same.
• A dashboard page showing the last year’s data on the waitlist movement can be put up on the Facebook GD-PI converts
page and official PagalGuy forum.

• Students didn’t know where to go during the admissions process in Gurgaon and there was no one present to guide
them
• Better structure by involving people at process locations. If needed include CorpComm members as well
• Have signboards to help students navigate better inside campus (in Gurgaon campus)
• Avoid multiple processes on the same day in Gurgaon campus. Last year interviews for the exchange program
and admissions process were taking place on the same day
• A lot students call AO after second installment to know their chances of conversion
• Instead we can show the waitlisted students their merit rank on the student portal
• The Personal Details Form, which is filled by the shortlisted candidates for GD-PI, requires most of the information
which is already captured in the application form
• We can maintain an online personal details form with auto populated data from application form and only asking
students for the program preferences. Any discrepancy in the auto populated data can be corrected at the time
of document verification
