 ELECTRICITY – one of the most important blessings that sciences has given to mankind. It has also
become part of modern life and one cannot think of a world without it. It used for lighting rooms,
working fans, and domestic appliances like electric stove, A/C and etc. in factories, large machines
are worked with the help of electricity: food, paper and etc.
- With our infrastructures under threat, our dependence on electricity and vulnerability when
a blackout occurs are exposed. Blackouts affect the economy and our everyday lives in a
number of ways: (1) without electricity food provisions are compromised as a lack of
refrigeration means food cannot be stored safely, leading to increased risk of food
poisoning; (2) security systems fail and the crime rate increases, as it amplifies the
opportunities are fraud, theft and exploitation; (3) a lack of power also causes immediate
and prevalent problem for transport system: traffic lights fail, rail systems come to a stop
and air transport becomes compromised due to the loss of communications and unlit
runways.

incredibly important not only to the individuals and business within the country among
other countries across the globe.
