Kentucky Fried Chicken (KFC) Company is one of the leading multinational companies around the
world. It is considered as the second largest fast-food chain restaurant after the McDonalds which was
established by Colonel Harland Sanders in the year of 1952 in Louisville, Kentucky. The main product of
KFC is fried chicken and also offered a variety of chicken recipes, side dishes, and dessert with the slogan
“It’s Finger-Lickin' Good”. KFC created an international connection that has more than 24,000
restaurants in over 145 countries around the world including the Philippines. The major market of KFC
are China, United State of America, Japan, U.K, South Africa, Malaysia, Canada, Australia, Russia and
Thailand. The Yum international is a headquartered in Louisville, Kentucky which monitor the global
operation of KFC.

The KFC is one of the largest fast food chain restaurant around the world that cater millions of
customers. The KFC company net worth reaches about $15 billion as of now. It was all started when a
sixty-five years old named Colonel Sanders tried to promote his chicken recipe but failed 1009 times
before it was accepted. His recipe became famous and successful, that he was able to build a global
empire out of fried chicken. The main reason for growth and success of KFC was the used of franchises
system which help to operate the company across the world. It offered a quality and fast service to
encourage their customer come again and be a loyal customer and they acknowledge the importance of
technology that will help making food last longer. Like other company, KFC also has a great downfall
which was KFC chicken shortage in the year of 2018 caused of Supply Chain failure which lead to more
than half of the UK’s KFC stores was closed. It harm their reputation, profit, and disappointed customers.
KFC stores also shut down in India, China, and other countries because of food safety scandals. They
have big competitors like McDonald's are the result of a declining KFC economy. They fixed their supply
chain management and cater unique market strategy in order for the company to operate and be
successful despite of those downfall. Some major impacts or influences of this institution on the global
economy are economic development, it brings capitalization or investment, provides job opportunities,
and improved the trading industry. KFC was franchised in the Philippines by Manuel U. Augustine, and it
started its operation in 1967. KFC in the Philippines creates a good relationship and partnership which
helps our economy to increase and developed.

I, therefore, conclude that Globalization has a big factor in the global economy and the country’s
economy. It helps the trading system among the nation, create a wide range of communication, and
spread the products and technologies around the world. Through capitalism and investment of countries
in multinational companies like KFC enable an expansion of their business globally which has a big
impact on the global economy like trade and foreign investment opportunities, increase productivity,
create jobs and wealth, promote culture and products, and create needed foreign currency for
developing economies. Using technology like the internet and media the company enables to market of
their product and industry around the world to gain more profit and tax revenue that will help to
increase the global economy including the country's economy. Faster movement of exporting and
importing of goods and services in different nations, supporting or investing in multinational companies,
creating unique market strategies in promoting country products, proper utilizing and managing of
globalization by the government is very essential because it will be the foundation on how to improve
the global economy and increase country's economy for better development.
