Dear Parent(s)/Guardian(s),

As a school, we consistently promote and expect positive interactions and relationships of mutual
respect in the school community. We would like to take this opportunity to make you aware of the
actions we have taken to promote such positive relationships.

We recently hosted a friendship week in which the whole school engaged in various workshops and
lessons to develop skills in building and maintaining friendships and conflict resolution. Students
have also been trained in restorative practise during their induction programme, a key strategy to
resolving conflict.

This week is designated to raising awareness about mental health and aims to promote positive
mental health, by teaching students the various tools they may use to boost their mood and look
after their mind. We have also invited a local member of An Garda Síochána to visit the school next
week to discuss the impacts and consequences of cyber bullying.

However, the most significant tool in promoting the positive behaviours outlined in our school matrix
is having the support of you, the parent(s)/guardian(s), as the primary educator in your child’s life
echoing the same essential message. We again would advise that you monitor your child’s
engagement with social media platforms, especially group chats and that you encourage your child to
use the appropriate channels for conflict resolution should a conflict arise.

Thank you for your support on this matter, we look forward to working with you in promoting positive,
healthy relationships moving forward.

Yours Sincerely,

Nessa Doyle (Principal) Rebecca Jones (Year Head)
