Elements of Fiction (GROUP INTRODUCTION - First meeting)

1. Exposition - When/Where did you first meet (time of the day/year, weather, description of
surroundings, location)? Sean

It was a bright sunny day in July. Students were coming inside the classroom one by one
because class was about to start. Most of the people inside the classroom are just silent, it’s as if
tranquility engulfed the whole scenery, a sight that is quite rare to see in a classroom. Others were
observing, while others felt fear for they are terrified not knowing what will happen next, for another
chapter of their life is yet to begin.

2. Conflicts experienced by the group (internal and external conflicts)

Ginko-External Conflict- Character vs Society Most of people view accountancy students as

studious and innately smart students, who does not have the right to commit mistakes, but what they
don’t know is that behind those success are hardships and countless tears that we shed just to better
understand a lesson. “You reap what you sow”, we were never innately smart, but we did our best to
decipher and understand each concept. It just feels bad and stressful for other people to assume this, we
are also humans, we are vulnerable, we have feelings, and we have the right to be humans.

Shiela -Character vs. Character As a human, it is natural to compare ourselves to others. We

have adopted that nature when we feel like we are never enough and always lacking. In BSA course,
there are several types of students, some are excelling and constantly getting an A+++ in their report card
and some need to put much effort just to pass. But then it is unfair to compare yourself, because every
student is unique and have their own studying pace. Instead of comparing yourself to the smartest
student in your class, instead be the smartest version of yourself, because that's when you'll learn how to
stop comparing your success to others.

Paula-Man VS technology Man VS nature Even though we want to focus and commit ourselves
to studying, this pandemic hinders us from learning so we need to find ways to learn to cope with this
pandemic. So we used technology in order to continue our studies even though there are some difficulties
such as internet connectivity and lack of gadgets.

Internal Conflict- Trugo we have a commitment to study hard to achieve one's goal, to become
a certified public accountant. However, studying very hard causes our health to decline whether it is
physical or mental, stopping from living a healthy personal life.

3. Type of Character per group member (dynamic, static, round, or flat) and other people's
perspective of you? Franzelle and Ginko

Dynamic- Ginko

Flat- Mia, Pau, Franzelle, Shiela, Karluz, Sean,

4. One turning point in your story? Mia

During the first semester, we never really find each other’s company often, we were
acquaintances as one would suppose, we all have our own circle of friends. But then as the second
semester came, we were united by a single goal which is to retain the bond that our section had, for we
find it very hard to adjust and thus we became close to each other despite of having different circle of
friends.

5. Theme (main, central, or biggest message or ideas learned in life)? Trugo

Theme: We are on a different boat but we are on the same sea, struggling to overcome the storm
to achieve our one goal, to become a CPA.
