Highlights in LOC GOV

 In addition to its share in the national taxes, the LGU also has a share in the utilization and
development of the natural resources.
 The share of the LGU in the national wealth constitute 40% of the gross proceeds from the
utilization of the national wealth.
 20% of the share in the national wealth must go to socio and economic development projects.
The remaining 80% must be utilized to lower the cost of electricity/power in the areas where
the natural resource is found.
 LGU also has a share in the GOCCs (there is a specific section in this, How is this distributed and
what percentage is given – check this)

BRGY
 Share of 20% from National taxes. Population and equal sharing.
 Katipunan ng mga barangay (15-30? Yrs old)
 Can be created by the provincial and the city government. But they have to fund it. But if the
national government made, they share in the 20% of the barangay share in the national taxes.

Municipality
 Requirements: Plebiscite of voters in the affected areas.
