Personal Philosophy

Growing up I always thought I would become a teacher. Being a teacher isn’t an easy job.

There are a lot of difficulties in this field. Whether it’s the staff, the parents, or the environment.

Although there are a lot of things that can make it harder to teach children. They all deserve a

good education and good teachers. When we look at a child, we should see what they are capable

of accomplishing, not what they can’t do, especially a child with a disability. Just because a child

has a disability, doesn’t mean they can't or don’t deserve to learn. A child deserves the education

they need in order to succeed, that’s why we have special education classes. Special education is

for the children that need it, it’s their right.

My job as an educator is to teach, no matter the circumstances. To some people a person's

skin color may affect the way they view that person. In my class: race, ethnicity, culture etc. does

not matter. I will do my best to make sure that I am fair to every child and that everyone gets

treated equally because we are all equal. Sometimes a child with special needs might need some

accommodations or modification, providing those will make it fair, so every child has the same

opportunities to learn.Every child is capable of learning. It may be harder or take longer for

some, than others but they can do it. When there is a child with a disability, we have more than

one teacher, helping and teaching that child because they might need more help.

There are some necessary qualities that are needed in order to be an educator. The most

important qualities is patience. It may take longer for a student to understand what you are

teaching but it's your job to make sure they learn. Sometimes we have to find alternative ways to

teach something so the whole class can understand. It is also important to be determined

individual. You must be determined to teach these children not matter how hard it may be.

Another thing that people forget is that teachers are loving and caring. We love the kids in the

class and care for them, that why we want them to succeed.

My personal philosophy has not changed and never will. I believe that every child

deserves the opportunity to learn and grow. My goal is to make sure that when a child leaves my

class, he/she has tried their hardest to learn and that I have done my best to make sure they learn.

A child with special needs may need my attention and help more than other students. I will do

my best to provide the most help and attention I can. My overall goal, is to become the best

teacher I can, so my students to become the best students he/she can become.
