Previous Knowledge: Students know what is latitude line and longitude line.

Objectives:

 Label the 4 hemispheres


 Draw the primer meridian line
 Place a coordinate point on the globe
 Draw lines of latitude and longitude on map
 Draw the Equator on the map

Materials: copy of map of the earth, chart,

Skills: speaking, writing

Day 2

Introduction: Teacher will have both words latitude and longitude words on the board. Teacher
will ask students what they know about each word. Teacher will write the thing under each.

Development: Students will be given a copy of map of the earth. The will be asked to label the
northern, southern, eastern and western hemisphere. Draw the latitude line and the longitude line
and meridian line. Have students draw the equator on their map. Ask students that each line be
done with different colour of crayons so to be able to see the difference. After labelling it discuss
the importance of latitude and longitude. Teacher will go around and assist where needed.

Conclusion: Have students write 3 sentences. Two with things they learnt on lesson and one with
what they did not understand or need more explanation.

Objectives: Students will be able to:

 Match the terms with definition


 Label the 4 Hemisphere.
 Understand the coordinates of latitude and longitude lines
 Complete practice sheet

Materials: chart, practice sheet, sentence strips and word card.

Skills: reading, speaking, listening

Day 3

Introduction: Teacher will place a chart with a picture of the image of map of the earth. Teacher
will ask volunteers to come and label it.

Development: Teacher will ask students what is the importance of latitude and longitude lines.

Teacher will place the terms latitude, longitude, prime meridian, Equator and coordinate point on
the board. Teacher will have the meanings of each on a strip of Bristol board. Teacher will ask
volunteers to come to the front and match the definition to the correct term. Go over the
definition with students. Tell students that in knowing to read and identify these lines they can be
able to find locations on the world map. Teacher will tell students it is very important for them to
know there are 4 hemispheres. Each country, state, town etc. have its location. Teacher will have
students see that the lines of latitude and longitude have degrees. Knowing to read those
coordinates are very important when trying to locate n are. Teacher will place a chart with the
map labelled and with the coordinates. Teacher will model reading the map and using the
coordinates to find location. Several examples will be show to students.

Conclusion: Students will be given a practice sheet where they will be given coordinate and they
will write what location they found

Previous Knowledge: Students can list different landforms using English language.

Objectives:
 Define what is Paisaje
 Read the different paisajes in Spanish with correct pronunciation
 Match picture with correct Spanish name.

Materials: picture, crayons,

Skills: speaking, writing, drawing

Introduction: Have students share the different landform using English language.

Development: Explain to students that are different landscape around the world. Teacher will tell
students that the world landscape in Spanish is paisajes. Explain to students that a landscape is
the visible features of an area of land, its landforms, and how they integrate with natural or man-
made features. Have students get in their groups. Teacher will share out their Chispas book and
will have them read the Spanish terms of the paisjae and give them the English term of it. Have
students repeat words twice to practice pronunciation. Teacher will draw 8 paisajes on the board
and will have students give the Spanish term for it.

Conclusion: Have students write the vocabulary words in their exercise book. Read with students
the words.
