In his opening remark Dr S K Mishra said that a diagnostic rubrics is a very important
tool for accreditation since it helps us to identify the weak areas of students so that
efforts can be made to overcome the same. It is always a TQM approach that can make
an institution from good to great.
Prof (Dr) Ramesh Behl, narrated the story of the seven year old institution where they
could realize that accreditation is nothing but you deliver what you promise. He made
certain in depth observations like co-relating the people, process and system with the

took place 2005-2016. He touched upon both strengths and weaknesses in the
institutional framework and how it had affected the students’ competence building. A
good institution is never built in a day and it takes long years of innovation and change
to give a shape to an institution. According to him the institutions are run with the
contemporary values of the societies and while safeguarding the interest we need to
restrict the abuse of the resources and use it for enhancing qualities in academic
delivery.

Sri K C Samal, Director (Finance), NALCO, our Revered Guest of Honour highlighted
five important dimensions for quality i.e. quality of student admission through a stringent
selection process, enhancing the quality of faculty members by providing proper
incentives and training, organising adequate infrastructure with latest facilities,
maintaining the right kind of discipline with right kind of attachment and bringing proper
alignment between industry and academics.
Dr Ashok Kumar Das in his profound deliberation mentioned that quality varies from
society to society, country to country and as a result the objectives of quality also get
redefined. While focusing on the top layer of participants in quality the role of bottom
layer should not be undermined. Social innovations, social engineering are essential for
designing quality in systems of the life. Dr Das highlighted two important points that are
very essential for bringing any change, i.e., we need to add compassion and instill
values in all our approaches for change.
She explained the detailed procedure for the institutions to be members of ACBSP and
various documentations required to fulfil the necessary evaluation criteria. There is a
provision for assigning a mentor who will guide, coordinate and supervise the
documentation work and provide recommendation regarding readiness for evaluation.

for understanding, interpreting and implementing in institutes of higher education in the

Industrial Visit
Industrial visit was carried out to FLEXI CAPS & POLYMERS PRIVATE LIMITED on
14th July, 2018 especially for semester five students. The main objective behind the
visit was to make students aware about how various activities related to production,
purchasing, store management and boilers section, are carried out in the company and
give them feel of Engineers as soon as they start their course. Three faculties and one
guest faculty Dr Kenneth W Miller - Professor, St Cloud State University Minnesota,
USA along with 45 students left for visit at 12 Noon and took about 30 minutes to cover
the distance. The company is located in Sanwer tehsil in Indore city. As soon as we
reached company we were guided by Mr Jai, Production Engineer, who took us to
administrative section where an orientation of company was given by heads of
production department about history and how company was established.
The conception of this philosophy is derived from the core objective of the company ‘To
Contribute to the Society’. Adhering to this philosophy, the Company balances its
business and manufacturing activities with its impact on the communities and people at
large. After introduction all students were headed by one manager of company who
helped them to understand how production is carried out in company and how company
reaches their customer. Maximum production in company is carried out by means of
machinery subdivide in various activities like inception of raw material, mixing process,
making jackets, covering the product and then converting it into finished goods. Finally
Finished goods are packed and are sealed where production batch number is
embossed for its future verification required.
We took almost two hour to see complete set of production which was followed by
questions of students. I appreciate staff member who guided students with each and
every question with detailed answers. It is rightly said that “see & kow’ is better than
‘read & learn’. Students have got real feel of company’s working after this visit. They got
a chance to transfer their theoretical knowledge to practical implication. This will even
help students to understand subject matter clearly in future also.

India tends to simplify things and produce innovations that are cost-effective. Creating a
strong innovation culture requires us to communicate and work together closely.
entrepreneurship and innovation are critical for creating economic empowerment for a
prosperous and peaceful world. Entrepreneurship is the process of starting a business;
typically a startup company offering an innovative product, process or service. An
entrepreneur perceives an opportunity and often exhibits biases in taking the decision to
exploit the opportunity.
In a major leap towards encouraging the entrepreneurship among its students, Shri
Vaishnav Vidyapeeth Vishwavidyalaya, Indore (SVVV, Indore) has launched the
Entrepreneurship Development Cell (EDC) to support and facilitate the development of
the next generation of business leaders. The EDC is aimed at enabling SVVV to
become the hub of entrepreneurship in the region. EDC is managed by the students of
SVVV for manifesting the entrepreneurial spirit of young students.
SVVV has always been a hotbed for innovative thinkers, and EDC offers a new channel
to transform breakthrough ideas into viable business ventures. EDC aims to create a
structured platform that strengthens the entrepreneurial ecosystem in technology
business incubation by providing support to the larger SVVV fraternity. The Cell focuses
on inviting on board experienced industry leaders, successful entrepreneurs, investors
and policy makers, who can guide the registered students in terms of mentoring, advice,
pitching proposals and more. SVVV has designed and developed mechanisms and
bodies to help create new enterprises that employ technologies developed by its faculty
and students. It, thus, offers a conducive environment in which new ideas can be
generated, researched, and nurtured before they become industry ready.
The activities of the Cell cover entrepreneurship value chain to include micro-grants and
networking with established entrepreneurs and industry leaders. It is managed by an
Advisory Board comprising faculty members, industry professionals, renowned
international experts on entrepreneurship and student representatives. Having round
the year events, such as expert lectures, Startup Weekend powered by Google for
entrepreneurial activities, events, competitions, and Jugaad conducted to inculcate a
startup mindset among students, EDC aims at an all round development of all its
members so that they are fully prepared for their future endeavors. It also supports and
incubates many startups.
