In today’s world, part of our daily routine is to browse the internet which is the social media.
Social media is widely used for it has many functions. Along with its positive contribution to
people, others still used it as way to harm individuals which can be a disadvantage. As a
professional, one of our responsibilities is to be a role model to those who are younger to us. Let
us always think that social media is not solely for fun thus its an essential tool to make our works
done. For every post that we take, let us always be reminded of its consequences. Things are
better if we carefully think about it such as confidential information that needs to be kept, use
of appropriate language and giving credits to the owner if somehow you use to share his/her
content. Let us follow the etiquette always.

To make our academic paper more accurate and understandable, varied uses of transitional
devices should be considered. Transitional devices connect sentences and paragraphs which
helps the readers to see the connection or relationship of ideas. Transitional devices vary
according to its uses such as adding information, contrasting, comparing, sequencing and
concluding. We must be familiar of its uses before we even use it in our sentences to have a

3. Inclusive Language in Communication


Inclusive language aims to promote awareness of diversity and value of all people. It is
about balancing between written and spoken communication in which there are several
terms that need to be change to avoid excluding people. For instance, instead of using the
term boys and girls in instructing, better to use the term children and mom to parent as a
good example of gender inclusive language. Inclusive language is a language that shows
sensitivity, respect and open-mindedness towards individuals and groups through positive
and accurate representation.

Online Language for Professionals


Some philosophers and researchers tend to define language as something that has vital role
in communication. To simply define language means allowing people to communicate in a
structured and conventional way. The main importance of this lesson is to emphasize the
use of professional language in an online setting. As much as possible, language to be used
in an online setting should be simple in which it has to give the readers the direct
information and not reading between the lines. We must stop relying on direct translations
but rather provide your own explanation about a certain topic. Mastering also the terms
used in your specific field to avoid misunderstanding and be more descriptive to avoid
confusions. By following these principles, you'll make a good impression and you will be
known as a professional, courteous employee and colleague.
