HOW DO YOU APPLY WHAT YOU HAVE LEARNED?

1. What is the scope of Genetics?
- Genetics is a branch of biology that deals with the study of heredity and variation. It
explains why closely related individuals resemble each other, and describes the
processes involved in the development of new characters. It states the origin of species
by means of natural selection, transmission of heredity in discrete units, DNA isolations,
Orderly Inheritance of disease, DNA transforms cells, and explains why genes are
made of DNA. It also includes, cause of disease to alteration, chromosomes
abnormalities, the animals gene cloned, first disease gene cloned, E. coli Genome
sequenced, completion of the Human Genome sequencing and etc.
2. How the development of technology affected the progress of the understanding
of genetics?
- While the technologies are developing, understanding of genetics are also
progressing. For example, a new technology is launched, the people will test it and
explore how to use it in another project. By using it, they will discover another theory
and observe it so that they can understand it’s meaning. After that, they will test their
project and if it is proved then it will be considered as another scope of genetics.

3. What ethical, legal or social factors may arise with the completion of the
sequencing of the human genome.
- The factor of the completion of the sequencing of the human genome are, to provide a
complete and accurate sequence of DNA base pairs that make up the human gene and
to find all human genes. It also aimed to sequence the genomes of several other
organisms that are important to medical research, such as the mouse and the fruit fly.
This project also developed new tools to obtain and analyze the data and to make this
this information widely available. Because advances in genetics have consequences for
individuals and society, the human genome project committed to exploring the
consequences of genomic research.
