SLEEPY DURING THE SCHOOL

A. BACKGROUND

Currently, school is one of the government’s programs as a means of


compulsory schooling 11 years. This program is run with the intention of educating
children of the nation and prepares the successor nations to bring Indonesia to be
better in the future.

But what would happen if we don’t concentrate on the teacher’s explanation.


Mostly, the problem was caused by sleepiness that regularly attacked the students.
More over if it is approaching 12 p.m. to top. So, we want to explain about the
drowsiness that often experienced by students. We hope this seminar may be
useful to my friends.

B. CAUSES

Physiologically, our body has an alarm that can remind us that the body
requires adequate rest. When the body needs to rest it will provide the code in the
form of sleepiness (drowsiness) if with the sleepy code and then we rest (by trying
to sleep), then after you wake up your body will be fresh. Because when we sleep,
the body will utilize the fatigue substances (lactic acid) to be reprocessed in the
liver as a reserve force.

Drowsiness also shows that the brain is deprived of oxygen. Oxygen is needed
by brain cells to perform routine daily activities. When oxygen is insufficient blood
circulation in the basal metabolic requirement, brain will be starved of oxygen.
The symptoms shown are sleepy.

C. CHARACTERISTICS

Characteristic of sleepy people:

• Often feel tired

• Sleepy

• Often fall asleep every time

• Less enthusiastic

• Difficulty concentrating

• Being forgetful

D. HOW TO RESOLVE THIS PROBLEM

There are many ways that we can do to cast out our sleepiness. There are:

1. Walk Around for a While


Try to walk around for a while. Take permission from your teacher to go to the
outside of class to breathe the fresh air.

2. Select healthy food


Healthy snacks can help us to increase energy, such as: peanut butter and
yoghurt.

3. Take a deep breath


Take a deep breath can increase blood oxygen levels in the body. It can slow
the heart rate, lowers blood pressure and improve circulation, which in turn
helps the mental performance and energy.

4. Drinking water
Dehydration can make our body fatigue. Make sure you drink plenty of water
and eating foods that contain high water content like fruits and vegetables
during recess.

5. Exercise
Exercise is more effective in improving energy and reduces fatigue during the
day instead of taking the drug. Regular exercise also improves sleep quality.

6. Wrinkling eyes
Wrinkled eyes for approximately 10 seconds can help to reduce drowsiness.
Just try it a few times.

7. Rub your face


Rub your hands, then rubbed into your face. This is the way parents used to
reduce drowsiness.

E. CONCLUSION

The conclusion is when you feel sleepy you can try to do Walk around for a
while, Select healthy food ,Take a deep breath, Drinking water, Exercise,
Wrinkling eyes, and Rub your face, It can help you to cast out your sleepiness.
