Founder of the company

1909 Anton Piller founded the company in Hamburg as fans & blowers
manufacturer

1939 Piller shifted the production to Moringen

1983 Piller started to produce blowers for vapour recompression

(MVR)

2000 Nils Englund took over Piller as family owned business

2008 Piller started to sell multistages MVR blowers to petrochemical

industry for steam regeneration / energy saving energy
Mechanical Vapor Recompression (MVR)
(= Heat Pump)
Required recompression work can be divide into 3 parts
The MVR blower acts like a heat pump and
cover pressure losses (pipe bends..) takes the evaporated parts back to the
temperture level, where it has enough heat
overcome boiling point elevation to evaporate the product again.

To have a rough figure to evaporate 2 ton of

solvents at 100 degree app. 2 ton of fresh
steam are required.

The MVR system is an energy efficient

solution, since only 15 kW electrical MVR
power per metric ton of steam at 100 °C is
needed to rise the temperature per stage
by + 6 -7 °C

Before revamp : Vapor separation process to keep operating system pressure by condenser
After revamp : OHV is not only condensed but evaporated to steam for compression to higher pressure
Compressed steam is delivered as a heat source of the process units
