Arraignment Information

Attempt Murder Investigation CFS 11-4681

On 01/29/2011, deputies assigned to Ypsilanti Township responded to the 1000 block of McCarthy Court (North of
Conway Avenue) for a shooting that just occurred. The deputies arrived and found one victim with a gunshot wound
to his arm (non-life threatening). The victim was uncooperative and specific details are not known at this time. The
time of occurrence was at 7:15 PM on 01/29/2011. The two suspects are known to the victim. The victim was
transported to St. Joseph Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Detectives identified two suspects and on February 1, 2011 James Willard Chandler BM 07/22/1969 was
arraigned on a four count Felony Warrant. Chandler was given a $250,000 bond. A Preliminary Exam has been
scheduled for February 16, 2011.

James Willard Chandler was charged with:

Count #1: Assault with Intent to Murder


Count #2: Assault with Intent to Great Bodily Harm Less than Murder
Count #3: Assault with a Dangerous Weapon
Count #4: Felony Firearm

Activity Information

BURGLARY 11-4964

On 02/01/2011, deputies assigned to Ypsilanti Township responded to the 6000 block of Robindale Drive (South of
Paint Creek Drive) for a burglary of a snow blower complaint. The deputies determined the suspect(s) walked into a
garage, because the overhead door was left open, to gain entry. The time of occurrence was between 10:00 PM
through 11:59 PM on 01/31/2011. A snow blower was taken. There is no suspect information at this time.

ATTEMPT MURDER 11-5065

On 02/01/2011, deputies assigned to Ypsilanti Township responded to the 2000 block of Packard Road (East of
Hewitt Road) for a stabbing that just occurred. The deputies arrived and found the victim in a wooded area. The
victim had been stabbed multiple times, with a knife, by a known suspect. The time of occurrence was at 2:54 PM
on 02/01/2011. The victim was transported to St. Joseph Hospital where she had surgery. The victim is in stable
condition and is expected to make a full recovering .

Deputies contacted the suspect and arrested him without incident. The suspect, a seventeen year-old male Ypsilanti
Township resident, was transported to the County Jail. The investigation will be turned over to the Washtenaw
County Prosecutor’s Office for review.

Arrest Information
11-5049
On 02/01/2011, deputies assigned to Superior Township responded to the 1000 block of Hamlet Drive for a civil
stand-by complaint. The deputies made contact with a subject and determined she was wanted on an outstanding
felony warrant. The subject was arrested without incident and transported to the County Jail.
