Welcome to Week 5

Welcome to Week 5! This week, you will explore Endocrine and Digestive concepts. Normal
endocrine function and hormonal regulation will be presented. The following objectives will be
addressed:

 Analyze pathophysiologic mechanisms associated endocrine and digestive disorders.

 Describe outcomes of disruptive or alterations in endocrine and digestive processes.
 Explore age-specific and developmental alterations in endocrine and digestive disorders.
 Relate pathophysiological alterations in endocrine and digestive processes to the
development, diagnosis and treatment of select health problems
 Examine current evidence to support the management of patient who presents with
endocrine and digestive dysfunction.

In addition to the assigned readings, make sure to explore all of the lessons to enhance
understanding of the concepts. Since there is no formal discussion this week, make sure to post
in this week’s Open Forum Discussion.

Remember that the Disease Process Assignment Part 2 is due by Sunday, 11:59 p.m. MT

was helpful. Now that Parts 1 and 2 have been completed, it is now time to complete the final
Audio/Video Disease Process Presentation to be uploaded to the Week 7 Discussion board and
Assignment area by Tuesday 11:59 p.m. MT. Remember that this final presentation is an
audio/video recorded presentation that is completed in Kaltura. Continue to follow the rubric for
this assignment and the Kaltura instructions provided. Please don’t hesitate to contact me with
