x1 For locating an artificial lens it is sometimes helpful to place the red line in the live Scheimpflug image in
the anterior chamber close to the iris if the lens is not sufficiently visible in the 3D-Scan.
x2 Especially if the pupil is not wide enough it is sometimes helpful to move the Pentacam towards the
nose of the patient to get an image of the whole human lens. For better reproducibility, use the red circles
in the pupil image as an alignment aid. If the pupil is large enough, the crystalline lens can be imaged
entirely in 3D-scan mode.
x3 This depends on the patient. If the patient has difficulty fixating the target (the black ring), as is
sometimes the case with older people, it is better to take only 5 images to get a sharp image. On the other
hand, one should take as many images as possible in order to minimize noise.
