Students are required to register and bid for ALL their modules from 28 December 2010 to
11 January 2011.

The University has introduced the Centralised Online Registration System (CORS) for the bidding of modules.
The website for the CORS is at http://www.cors.nus.edu.sg. All information and instructions are posted there.
Please read carefully before you start bidding for your modules.

The schedule for bidding and dropping of modules is as follows:

a) Workload

The minimum work-load for one semester is one module whilst the maximum is four modules, including the
retake modules.

In order to read a module which has pre-requisite module(s), a student is required to have read but not
necessarily have passed the pre-requisite module(s), in a previous semester.

In order to read a module which has co-requisite module(s), a student must read the co-requisite module(s)
in the same semester unless he has read but not necessarily has passed the co-requisite module(s), in a
previous semester.

All modules available for Semester II, AY 2010/2011 are listed below for your easy reference. Please take
note that some of the modules have pre-requisite and/or co-requisite module(s).

b) Re-taking of Modules

Students may opt to Re-take a module only if

(i) it is a failed module or

(ii) they have been exempted from sitting for the examination in the previous semester, based on
medical grounds and
(iii) the module is offered in the current semester.

Students are advised to re-take all failed modules during the next available semester and try not to
delay re-taking essential modules till the final year.

c) Elective Module

An Elective module may not be offered if there is insufficient number of students opting for that module
at any particular time. Students who are affected will be informed later for re-registration of other
modules.

A student who fails an Elective module in the previous semester(s) may opt not to re-take the module but
to register for another module.

d) Final Year Project

i) Students intending to start their FYP this Sem 2 AY10/11:

If you intend to start your FYP this semester, you would have already been allocated your projects and
supervisor. Please register for your FYP module via CORS. Please note that all students who bid for their
FYP module will be allocated. If you have not been allocated your project and supervisor, you must not
register for your FYP module.

ii) Students who started their FYP in Sem 1, AY10/11:

Please be informed that if you do not need to register for your FYP module via CORS. BTech Office will
pre-allocate the module for you.

iii) Students who started their FYP projects from Sem 1 AY10/11 or earlier:

Please register for your FYP module via CORS if you have not completed your FYP.

e) Degree Requirements

The degree requirements for students who are matriculated from AY2007/2008 onwards have been
changed. For more details, kindly visit the website for your respective courses:

Electronics Engineering: https://btech.eng.nus.edu.sg/BTech/Programme/EE/EEStructure.aspx

2
f) Declaration

This is not applicable to BTech students. You may skip this section in CORS.

There is another type of declaration in terms of modules or S/U (Satisfactory/Unsatisfactory) declaration

which will be applicable to BTech students from AY0708 Intake onwards. For more details, kindly visit
https://btech.eng.nus.edu.sg/BTech/Programme/SUDeclaration.aspx and
https://btech.eng.nus.edu.sg/BTech/Programme/ModuleDeclaration.aspx

g) Tutorial Registration

Please ignore the Tutorial Registration in CORS. The tutorial groups for BTech students will be
manually assigned by the BTech Office.

h) File for Graduation

For final year students, if you have accumulated enough Modular Credits to graduate (including those
modules that you have successfully bidded), you may file for graduation under the “File for Graduation”
option.

Other information

i) TG3001 or Unrestricted Elective Modules (UEMs)

Students who are matriculated in AY2007/2008 are required to register for EITHER TG3001 OR 12
MCs of Unrestricted Elective Modules (UEMs) to fufil their degree requirements.

For students who are starting their TG3001 Industrial Practice in Semester 2 AY10/11, BTech Office will
pre-allocate the module for you.

For students who have started but have not completed their TG3001 Industrial Practice, BTech Office will
also pre-allocate the module for you.
