Undeniably, integrating technology in education has made quite an impact in the educational
premise. It brings potential benefits. However, some argue that technology in the classroom
has loopholes.

ICT’s in education brings effectiveness in learning process. They bring powerful tool
for extending educational opportunities. It could be accessed anytime and anywhere for
ICT’s one defining feature is their ability to transcend time and space.
Secondly, because of ICT, tecahers and students no longer rely solely on printed
materials such as books as their source. With the internet, a wealth of learning materials in
almost every subject and in variety of media can be accessed by a number of people.
Last to mention, the most commonly cited reason for using ICT in the classroom has
been to prepare the students in a workplace where ICT, particularly, computers are becoming
more ubiquitous. It represents competitive edge in an increasingly globalized job market.

On the other hand, hereunder are the disadvantages or loopholes of ICT in education.
It can result to lack of interest in studying because everything is accessible online.
Also, students can access inappropriate content such as pornography and violence.
Technology can cause also inevitable cheating because students might just look up answers
on the internet directly rather than formulating their own thus the issue of plagiarism is
already present. Lastly, the distraction it brings to students. Their focus may shift from their
teachers to whatever they are looking for like games.

For me, the integration of ICT in education is of big help especially on the students.
As for me, the more accessed source of information, the broader the learning is. ICT’s goal in
pedagogical aspect is to make the teaching-learning process more efficient and effective at
the same easy to access and use anytime and anywhere. Integrating technology in education
has its advantages and disadvantages, but proper implementation might help keep the
drawbacks to a minimum.
