INTRODUCTION:-
A flooring system can be defined as how the materials and the pieces are fixed together.it is the
group of the components that are assembled to work together to make a flat surface, smooth and
beautiful flooring system.

Every flooring system requires the support for its start. The support that is required or used for
the flooring system would be a concrete foundation that consists of the frames, woods, girders, or
the other lightweight materials that are used for the support of the flooring system.

The type of flooring that we will use is the wooden flooring system.in this type of flooring, we
have to choose the timber as our major component that will be used for the flooring. The wood is
the common choice that can be used in the flooring system which may come in different shapes,
sizes, and colors.

Bamboo flooring is also considered as the type of wooden flooring although the major
component in this flooring is the grass rather than the timber.

Materials used:-
The types of material that are used in the wooden flooring system are:-

 Lime concrete or cement

 Flagstones
 Marble
 Glass
 Plastic
 Ceramic

Tools that are used:-


The safety goggles:-

The safety goggles can be treated as the safety equipment that is used while working on the
wooden flooring system. The piece of the eye can cause permanent damage to your eyes so to
avoid this we used the safety goggles.
Dust masks:-

It is mandatory to wear a dust mask while working. When you are working with the sand or the
wood then the small fragments of the sand may damage your skin or causes the allergic
reactions.so it is advisable to wear the dust masks.

Earplugs:-

When you are working with the wood then it causes the sound. The continuous sharp sound of
the wood can damage your ears.to avoid this you should use the earplugs or earmuffs. An
earplug is a gadget that is embedded in the ear channel to shield the client's ears from boisterous
clamors, interruption of water, unfamiliar bodies, dust or unreasonable breeze. Since they lessen
the sound volume, earplugs are frequently used to help forestall hearing misfortune and tinnitus
(ringing of the ears).

Electrical testers:-

To study or investigate the property of the electricity while working with different equipment’s
you should use electrical testers. The testing gear used to recognize deficiencies in the activity of
electronic gadgets by making boost signals and catch reactions from electronic gadgets under test
is known as electronic test hardware. On the off chance that any deficiencies are recognized, at
that point distinguished issues can be followed a redressed utilizing electronic testing hardware.
Regularly all electrical and electronic circuits are tried and investigated to recognize
shortcomings or strange working assuming any.

Safety boots:-

The danger to your feet can cause serious problems for you. The serious problems can cause the
fracture or the other dangerous injury which can harm your body parts.so to avoid all these you
should use the precautionary measures to protect yourself from the big kind of danger.

Installation steps:-
Tongue and the grove:-

One side of the wood has a groove and the other side of the wood has the tongue. The tongue and
the groves are tightly fit together and firmly held with each other to provide the support. They
can be installed by the glue-down method or the nail-down method.

Floor connection system:-

There are widely used techniques that can be followed while setting the floor connection system.
The general principle to obey while working with the floor connection system is to join the two
planks together inside the grooves with the help of the wood or the rubber for its support and to
hold them tightly together.
This installation can also be obeyed or followed while working with the other components.

Floating installation:-

This installation is obeyed when the floor is on the top of the moisture barrier. The pranks are
joined together with the help of the sticking material like the wood glue etc.

Cabinets and the walls should be installed on the upper floor while the subfloor should be, made
flat.

Another type of installation is secret nailing which is similar to that of the glue method with
several changes. The boards must be of 18mm length in this method and the grooves are held
firmly together with the help of the wooden glue.

This wooden flooring system consists of the major components:-

Stud:-
These are the vertical shape which is inside the walls. A divider stud is a vertical surrounding

Joists:-

These are the horizontal shape inside the walls. A joist is a level basic part utilized in encircling

give solidness to the subfloor sheathing, permitting it to work as a flat stomach. Joists are

Rafters:-

These are the beams of the wood which support the floor. A crossbeam is one of a progression of

Sheathing:-

These are the sheets that are inside the walls.

It also consists of the wooden timber that consists of the wood and is used for the support. The
grooves are firmly tight together to provide support. The sticking materials that can be used to
tight the grooves are the wood glue or the rubber or plastic.

They can provide support. The pranks are also joining together with the help of some sticking
material. Sheathing is the board or board material utilized in floor, divider and rooftop gatherings

application, is to frame a surface onto which different materials can be applied. There are a few

Advantages and disadvantages of the wooden flooring system:-


Advantages of the wooden flooring systems:-

 Wooden systems ensure the long term investment because wood can be used for the
number of years.
 The quality of the wood that is to be used is ageless.it has no age factor. It is long-lasting
and of good quality.
 The wood can be easily cleaned by using the soft cloth and the spray so it gives us long
term maintenance.
 The wooden flooring system can be easily installed. Fewer errors can result in a better
quality of work.
 The wood is of organic origin. It can reduce the environmental impact and ensures is a
clean and hygienic environment without any type of harmful and dangerous risks.

Disadvantages of the wooden flooring system:-

 The hardwood requires a great amount of the polish which is to be maintained for 3 to 4
years to manage the large traffic area. The Labour cost can make this flooring very
expensive and costly and it is difficult to handle such amount of a high cost.
 The type of wooden flooring requires regular maintenance which is very difficult for the
residents living in the local area.
 Wooden flooring can be damaged with a single drop of the water to be used. So it is
advised not to be the pools inside the homes to avoid the damage.
 Wooden flooring cannot be applicable in the Indian kitchen and the expensive
washrooms.
 The nails that are used in the wooden flooring may damage your feet and knees so it is
also advised to not use them.
 Humidity and the temperature is the major drawback of this wooden flooring system.
