What is a Rapid Injury Clinic?
The Mater Smithfield Rapid Injury Clinic
offers assessment and treatment to any-
one who has sustained an injury. Nurses
and doctors who specialise in emergency
care (Advanced Nurse Practitioners and
Emergency Registrar) staff the Rapid In-
jury Clinic. The clinic has direct access
to x-ray and laboratory tests and we pro-
vide a full range of urgent care services,
for example; suturing, application of plas-
ter of paris and minor surgical procedures.
We have direct access to all hospital serv-
ices as the clinic is under the care of the
Mater Misericordiae University Hospital.
