Detailed Lesson Plan in English 7

I. Objectives
During the discussion, the students will be able to:
1. Identify adjectives used in the song;
2. Share their opinion or point of view about the song;
3. Write a short paragraph about the given topic using adjectives.

II. Subject Matter


Topic: Song “The Impossible Dream” – Adjective
Reference: Road to Greatness pp.243-244
Materials: Laptop, Television, Song video with lyrics

B. Activity

Divide the class into two.


- Go to their respective groups

The teacher will play the song


video with lyrics. Watch and listen
very carefully while it is being
played and do the following:

Group 1- take down all the words


that are in color blue and
give the meaning, after
that write the words on
board
Group 2 – take down all the words
that are in color red and
use it in the sentence
then, write the words on
the board.

C. Analysis

- After you have listened the


song, what do you think it’s
all about?

pronoun and it makes the
word they modify more

or extreme to be accepted or

moving

D. Abstraction

Again, what is an adjective?


- An adjective is a describing
word. It helps describe
people, places, and things. In
other words, it describes a
noun. In most sentences, it
goes before it describe a
noun or after a verb.
-Why is it important to use
adjective in writing a song?
- It is important to use
adjective because it help
gives more detail to the
person, place or thing.

- It is important because it
gives the reader/listener a
clearer picture of what we
are trying to say.

-If the writer/composer didn’t
use adjective in writing a
song, what will happen?
- Maybe, the song will not be
attracted to the listener and
they won’t fully understand
and picture what is being
described.

E. Application

- Divide the class into four (4)


- Each group will write a
short paragraph about the
given topic using adjective
and share it to the class in a
creative way.
- Choose a representative to
come in front and pick a
number.

IV. Evaluation
Direction: write your own opinion or point of view about the song and share it to
the class.

V. Assignment
Cut at least three colorful pictures from a magazine and paste them on short bond
paper. List down adjectives that can be derived from the pictures. Bind the sheets
in a folder.
