PRESS RELEASE

SEATTLE AND WSLCB LIE ABOUT SHAWN KEMP CANNABIS STORE

TO COVER UP FOR EIGHT YEARS OF RACISM
FACT: There are approximately 50 retail shops in Seattle.
FACT: None of them are black-owned nor have there ever been any such shops.
FACT: There were many qualified black-owned medicinal owners who never got into the
lottery because they were selectively persecuted, often using Federal Law

Brionne Corbray and Tim @2ogssmokinweed – (Budmargins and MrGoodCush89) wish Shawn Kemp all of the
success in the World. But don’t propagate and disseminate the lie that this shop is anything more than window
dressing. It is not black-owned. He is a 10% owner of a white-owned venture and the fact that the City or LCB
would attempt to pass this off as Seattle’s first black-owned retail cannabis shop is ethically reprehensible.
Moreover, as of October 23, 2020 his application to join an existing license had not yet been approved but we are
sure LCB is likely to ram it through to help cover their butts.

The racially-selective schemes that LCB and Jenny Durkan as Federal Prosecutor have run to thwart the Corbray’s
business, Black Excellence in Cannabis and many many others in this town actually merit a criminal racketeering or
Civil Rights violation. Alas, instead the community is left to file suit to address these crimes against humanity See

“They made me into a criminal even though we followed State Law to the “T.”
I clearly was suffering from PTSD from the whole racist attack on me, my business and my family. The
humiliation of the slander from lies that they told the press about my business actions was emotionally
crippling. We are not criminals!

To the contrary, I worked hard to provide a safe access point for people who were legally allowed to have
marijuana but they called me a “cartel” over a state-licensed business that only had 3lbs in 3 separate
locations which was fully legal under state law since we were all medical marijuana patients. There was
also over 3000 white-owned access points that operated the exact same way without major incident.
Jenny Durkan and her henchmen tried to erase me from the history of the economic development of
marijuana in Washington. The actions smack of Systemic racism and we need reparations for the damage
you caused and the generational wealth you stole from me and my family. And of course we are hardly
the only ones. You can’t fix this by deflecting attention to a 10% black-owned shop. We will not let you
fool the World public: You have to face your shame and fix what you broke. You need to grant the
Corbrays’ a license. You need to grant licenses to anyone else similarly-situated.”

We don’t need your mealy-mouthed proclamations about what you might do in the future: With 50 white shops in
often black neighborhoods and no black owners not only do we need immediate reparations for the stolen black
dreams, those neighborhoods need more real investment from these current owners. It's disgusting, and
happening right here in this so-called liberal City.
