Body
You’ll make the body starting from the feet up. To do that, you’ll first make two legs
(separately), and you’ll join them to make the torso (try to leave no gaps). The arms
start with the Pea Green color, and end with black. They are each a different length.
You’ll later join them to the shirtsleeves.

Shirt
The shirt body and arms start with a chain and you’ll work in the round to make
tubes. Toward the end of each part you’ll be attaching it to the torso and arms. While
doing so, the number of stitches won’t match (the shirt will have more than the body
and arms). Just do the best you can so the arms and body don’t fall out.

Finishing
• Add the bolts to the neck. To make a bolt, tie a double knot in the middle of a
piece of black yarn (see picture below). Tie the bolts around a post in the last row
of the head (see picture on right).

• Sew arms to body.

• Sew body to head.
• Weave in loose ends.

Attaching the hair
The first step is to cut many lengths of yarn of the
same length. The ones I used for Franky were all
about 6in. each, which once attached in the middle,
end up giving 2 3in. strands of hair.

You’ll need a lot of strands of hair, but you can first

try with a dozen or so, and once you are more
comfortable, make tons more.

To make the yarn cutting easier, find

a long object with a circumference of
6in. In my case I used a builder’s
level, but you can also cut a long
piece of cardboard to 3in wide. Wrap
your yarn evenly along the object.
Then cut them through the middle.

Now you’ll need to attach every strand

to the top of the head. To do so, insert a
hook (smaller than what you where
using to make the head) into the top of
the head, around a post.

Take one of your strands and pull it though.

Make sure both ends of the strand are
the same length. Pull both ends through
the loop and pull.

Repeat this through every post of the top

of the head. Yes, it will take about 2
hours to do, so put on some nice music
or watch TV…
