Polar bear swims

nonstop for nine days
A polar bear swam nonstop for more than nine days over
426 miles because it couldn’t find any ice to rest on.
Scientists say huge trips like this are happening because of climate
change. Polar bears swim from land to sea ice floes to hunt seals but
melting ice means they have to swim further.
Geoff York from animal charity WWF says: “As the Arctic ice continues to
melt, it is likely that polar bears are going to have to swim longer distances.”
