Letter of Intent

To whom it may concern:

My name is Muhsin Abdul Hadi and I am an Indonesian who graduated from Ondokuz Mayis University in 2018
under the divinity department (Ilahiyat Fakültesi). During my study in Turkey I was active to join and contribute in
some associations and organizations, especially those focusing on religious counselling and guidance, Islamic
upbringing and cultural assimilation. From here I am used to having self-discipline, self-sufficiency, leadership,
autonomy and good time management.
As a student who has completed undergraduate degree in Turkey, I really know and realize how good is the quality of
education there. Education system in Turkey these days is increasing in quality and quantity. Turkey has placed
education, specifically education in universities as a priority to be achieved towards successful level. This is shown by
the fact that students and alumni are able to compete with academics in graduate programs around the world in areas
such as social, art, science, health etc.
Being graduated from an undergraduate degree at Ondokuz Mayis University for myself was an irreplaceable and
valuable experience. however I realize that it was not enough yet and I need to continue my study for next degrees,
because seeking knowledge is an endless obligation for every human being, as a famous Islamic proverb said” seek
knowledge from the cradle to the grave ”. Therefore, as human being we must always feel less and remain curious
about science and knowledge.
By knowing good education quality in Turkey, Here I am writing to express my strong will and interest to continue
my master degree in Islamic Basic Sciences there. As far as I am concerned (via website, media, published researches)
and according to information ad suggestion from my friends that are studying in Ibnu Haldun University, Ibnu Haldun
University is an ideal place to study social sciences including Religious Sciences or Islamic Basic Sciences. Because it
has competent and successful academic staff, and availability of good library facilities, Ibnu Haldun offers various
scholarships and applies good research standard and quality. Also, since Ibnu Haldun has a good education and it is
an international university, I see it is a place where, besides, I study, I am able to know various and different cultures.
Master in Islamic Basic Sciences is the program that I want to apply, and Islamic jurisprudence is the main topic that I
plan to study. In my opinion, Islamic Jurisprudence has a large and important role for individual and social life of a
Moslem. The Provisions of worship, the behavior of people and their rights to each other, the responsibilities and
attitude towards God and other people are a number of points which are studied and discussed in Islamic
Jurisprudence.
Ibadat (worship), muamalat (transactions or dealings), munakahat (Islamic marriage and family law), jinayat (Islamic
Criminal law) are four primary chapters that exist in Islamic Jurisprudence. All of them can’t be separated from a
Moslem daily life. In short, we can conclude that Islamic jurisprudence teaches the way and rule of life and indeed
Islamic Jurisprudence is a binding necessity for every Moslem. Moreover, Islamic jurisprudence also teaches us the
importance and value of difference, because some Islamic scholars’ opinions or ideas in making a conclusion may
differ from one another. And The more we recognize and understand the difference the more we recognize and
understand diversity and tolerance. In result of it, we will not be claiming that we are the truest or the most correct
one, but we will be humbly respecting and appreciating even though we are different from each other in implementing
and practicing religious teachings. As long as we are still in the same approved (by Moslem scholars majority) Islamic
teachings.
In this case, as I am a graduate of theology faculty, I wish to be a beneficial person with my knowledge and insight in
the future. And for actualizing it I decide that becoming an academician is my current and future goal. I strongly
believe that Ibnu Haldun University with its quality is a prestigious and ideal destination for me to study master
program in Islamic Basic Science. By having the opportunity to study master at Ibnu Haldun University, I hope I can
become an expert in this field so that later I am able to dedicate myself to scientific research and education with what I
will get from Ibnu Haldun university after I return to my own country, and I am able to become an influential person
with the capacity and potency that I have as well.
Sincerely,

Muhsin Abdul Had
