INCIDENT SUMMARY
The caller reported that Crest Distributing, Inc, dba Christensen Oil Company was storing used oil outside in a 500 tank and plastic totes directly on the
ground without secondary containment. The caller has witnessed dark staining on the soils beneath these containers in the past. The caller
stated that about a month ago, in a storage area for over a 100 totes of used oil, the facility moved the totes, excavated oil-contaminated soils beneath
were the totes were stored and then replaced the soil with fresh gravel. The caller is concerned that the facility did not remove all of the oil-
contaminated soils in this area. The caller currently does not see any staining on the ground.

The caller also recently saw used oil pooling on the top of some of the totes and was concerned this spilled material would end up on the ground. The
caller thought that storm water leaving the facility might be contaminated from contact with the oil contaminated soils and would then end up in Utah
Lake. The caller has not seen any storm water with oil contamination but was worried it might happen.

The caller stated that with the exception of the oily liquid on top of the tote there is no evidence on 7/20/2020 of oil spills on the ground.
