AD-I: GRAM PANCHAYAT
Project Description:

As first year Bachelor of Architecture students, we were asked to

design a Gram Panchayat for a semi rural community. For this purpose, we
visited the settlement of Bhor, which is about 80 k.ms from Pune and
studied the settlement for a better understanding of what was required to
design a Gram Panchayat.

Having studied the settlement we drew up a list of requirements for

the Panchayat which included shops, a bank counter, a post office, a main
office, multi purpose hall and a central gallery with adequate toilet
facilities.

We were asked to prepare detailed plans, elevations and sections

for the same, along with a site plan showing the roof profile and a model.

AD-II: CLUB HOUSE AND
SPORTS COMPLEX
Project Description:
My main project for my 2nd year B. Arch, for Architectural Design was the
design of a Club House and its associated Sports Complex. For a better
understanding of the functioning and operation of a club, I conducted a case
study of the R.S.I Club in Pune. Additional research for the layout of the golf
course, swimming pool, tennis courts and other facilities were done using
internet and library resources.

The project involved the design of a club house and sports complex. The
sporting facilities included a tennis stadium, a swimming pool, a golf course
and a boating facility. The indoor facilities included a ball room, a billiards
room, a bar room, pantry, kitchen, a club office and adequate storage and
toilet facilities. Additionally, the structure was to be constructed in timber,
using roofing and flooring details learnt in the 1st and 2nd year in Building
Technology.

Detailed plans, elevations, sections along with landscape rendition of the

site was expected, along with a model for the club house.

AD-II: PRIMARY SCHOOL
Project Description:
The secondary project of my 2nd year B. Arch, for Architectural
Design was the design of a Primary School. For a better understanding of
the functioning and operation of a primary, I conducted a case study of
the Bishop’s School in Pune. Additional research of basic anthropometric
and design data were done using internet and library resources.
The project involved the design of a primary school from classes 1
to 4 each with 2 sections of 30 students each, i.e. 240 students. It involved
a close study of basic anthropometry, for making the structure more user
friendly. Special care was taken in the design and layout of each classroom
to better facilitate the educational process.
Detailed plans, elevations, sections along with a site plan showing
the parking layout for all the users was carried out.

+AD-III: COLLEGE OF HOTEL MANAGEMENT
AND CATERING TECHNOLOGY
Project Description:
This project was the major project for my 3rd year Architectural
Design portfolio and was divided into two parts. The first part was the
design of the Main College building and the site layout. The second part
was the design of the Student’s Accommodation Facilities, i.e. the Hostels.
A major in-depth case study of the IHMCT in Lonawala was
conducted, along with comparative analysis of similar institutes in Pune,
from which we were able to understand the basic requirements and
functioning of the Institute and the student’s accommodation.
The project involved numerous design requirements. Special
emphasis was put by me on sustainability, in order to make the design as
sustainable and eco-friendly as possible, within the restrictions of
economy and scale.
Detailed drawings of plans, sections and elevations along with
landscaping details for the site were submitted for the final presentation.

The project involved the design of a bank counter along with
conference rooms, strong rooms, manager’s cabin, server room and
adequate toilet facilities and other requirements. Additionally, space was
