PART 1:

    Answer the following questions:

1. What do you mean by “Growth is an evidence of Life”?
“Growth is an evidence of life” means that we must value ourselves in this world on how to manage
with environmental changes in order to survive. Such as, healthy lifestyle, proper and healthy diet
as well as regular exercise. These simple things we must consider for ourselves in order to grow and
live. We must know how to deal with every circumstances in our daily lives through positive
behavior. We are in the 21st century, we continue to live and continue to grow by adapting to
changes. But growing is pretty hard, not only to the physical aspect but also mentally. Physical
grow is the law of nature and mental growth is a personal concern. Growth involves change and
change involves pain. Physical growth is given, but mental and psychological growth is the most
critical one. We must consider it mostly in our lives. But growth is sometimes incomplete without
our inevitable relationship with God.
2. Define development in your own words. Translate the meaning of development in your local dialect.
“Development” is growing, processing and developing.
“Pag jatu/susungun (Tausug)” “Pag unlad (Filipino)”
3. State the 5 principles of human development from a life-span perspective.
a. Give at least one (1) application of each principle in the teaching – learning process.
-Development is Lifelong
-Development is Multidimensional
-Development is Plastic
-Development is Contextual
-Development is Involves Growth, Maintenance, and Regulation.
b. What have these principles do with you as you teach your learners?
- Learning more about this principle it has something to do as I teach my learners. By
learning more about how children develop and grow can provide additional insight into how
you have become the person you are. Development is a complex process, so learning more
about how kids grow physically, socially, emotionally, and cognitively can lead to a deeper
understanding of kids of all ages.
a. Research further on the Cephalocaudal and Proximodistal patterns of development.
a. Illustrate both patterns by a drawing or a diagram.
Cephalocaudal is the process from head down to tail. This means that improvement in structure and
function come first in the head region, then in the trunk, and the last in the leg region.
Proximodistal is the process from center or midline to periphery direction. Development proceeds
from near to far – outward from central axis of the body toward the extremities.
