1. Introduction

1.1 Purpose
The Purpose of this application is to reduce the Manual work, work load during the
registration of the attendance of the staff and non teaching staff.Another purpose is to
generate the report automatically at the end of the session or inbetween the session.

1.2 Project Scope

The scope is to reduce the manual work and also for adding the information of the staff, so
that the staff information can be easily viewed from anywhere. It is no longer need to spend
hours in queue to sign the attendance register. It helps us to save money by ensuring that our
staff is not overpaid.

2. Overall Description
2.1 Product Perspective
This is the newly designing project by the interaction between staff and the higher
officials of the college. Attendance maintenance is the act of managing attendance or
presence in a work setting to minimize loss due to employee downtime.

2.2 Product Features

This project make the authorized user to enter staff information , Update their information,
View their Information from anywhere in the college. It is no longer need to spend hours
manually going through paper time cards to consolidate staff worked hours.
The project provides greater benefits for the college in saving time. It eliminates paper work
and save the precious time

2.3 User Classes and Characteristics

The types of users who use this project are authorized user ,higher officials who have the
authority to update the staff information.The staff can only view their attendance
information, whereas authorized user will enter that information and the higher officials has
the overall control of the project.

2.4 Operating Environment

This application will work in any operating environment .

2.5 Design and Implementation Constraints

To design this projectVB.NET is required as a front-end for a designing and coding purpose

SQL SERVER is used as a back-end for storing the information.

3. External Interface Requirements

3.1 User Interfaces
Three different users will interact with this project.

1. Higher officials

2. Authorized user

Authorized user will enter their PG Details, UG Details, +2 details, 10 details and their
personal details.

Higher officials will have the overall control of this project.

3.2 Hardware Interfaces

This project require P4 Processor, 512 MB RAM.

3.3 Software Interfaces

The project requires front end as SQL Server and back end as .Net Framework 4.0 or above.

3.4 Communications Interfaces

This Project Require the LAN Support, HTTP Protocol.

4. Other Nonfunctional Requirements

4.1 Security Requirements

The authorized user will enter into application by giving the appropriate user name and

password for the updation of information of the staff,using their ID number.It possible to

view,update or insert the information.
