INTRODUCTION

For this school year, we shall be directed to do theology in our lives by our theme
“Revelation and Faith”. We shall begin with making sense of our Vision-Mission and the
Benedictine hallmarks. Thus, doing Theology entails the need of seeing the mutual
relationship between human experience and faith. As we begin our course, let us ask
invoke God’s Spirit to show us the way to doing Filipino theology
Study the following images. What do you see? What is common among the images?

You'll notice that every item above has markings on it. These markings indicate important
information about each piece. Many jewelry marks represent the metal content of the piece.
Typically, you'll find metal content stamps near the clasp on necklaces and bracelets, on
the inside surface of rings, and on the backs of earrings, pins, and brooches.

From metal content to manufacturer, jewelry markings can give a clue about the value and
history of the jewelry pieces. It has now become mandatory for all jewelers to hallmark gold
jewelry. Hallmarking is the process of putting marks on an article to indicate origin, purity,
or genuineness.

In the same way that jewelries can have hallmarks, you too as Benedictine students, must
possess hallmarks or distinguishing characteristics to enable you to contemplate the
real meaning of life so that in all things, God may be glorified.

proud to be Catholic and Filipino.
Catholic - as Christians we follow the teachings of Christ,
where all human values find fulfillment.
As Filipinos, we enhance and carry our cultural heritage

As Benedictines, we have to see the connection and relevance of our Vision-

Mission and Hallmarks to our daily life. Our stay and education in St. Peter’s College
