At Market Place Leadership (MPL), our
goal is to educate, influence, and support
Christian business leaders in order to live
a balanced life at home, in business and
in the community, while developing and
maintaining a strong relationship with
God.
We live in a society driven by power,
money, and greed that often encourages
leaders to be dishonest and treat employees
with little value in order to advance or
succeed in the business world. Business
leaders become so consumed in the
busyness of work and life that they often
forget the core values and the Biblical-
based word that God has provided.
If you are a business manager or leader
and want to learn how to succeed in the
marketplace without compromising the
fundamental Christian values that God has
given us, then this ministry is for you! It is
our desire to create a network of Christian
business leaders and create a conduit
for spiritual, business and economical
interchange.
The ministry will also provide a forum
for discussion on the issues and topics that
impact our community here in Hawai`i. At
MPL, we want to influence, educate and
support marketplace leaders in Hawai`i
by creating a support group and network
of Christian business leaders that will
positively impact our community.
Support Leadership
1 One of the goals of the MPL is to provide our business leaders
with fundamental leadership skills that will equip members to be
successful within their business and organization. We want to ensure
that our members have the opportunity and access to become not
only better leaders within their occupation, but provide them with
networking opportunities to meet other market place leaders within
our congregation. Through our very own MPL business directory, we
have created an outlet for leaders as well as congregation members to
help support our church businesses by utilizing the services promoted
in the directory. We also have quarterly leadership luncheon events
that assist MPL members in gleaning both practical and spiritual
knowledge, which are applicable to their daily lives in the market place.
Spiritual Connection
2 A key element of the MPL is the connection between members on a
spiritual level. Throughout the year, the MPL connects our business
leaders into life groups through our connection campaign. The MPL
also hosts a once a month networking and spiritual growth night on
the first Wednesday of each month prior to New Hope’s mid week
service at Sand Island. These monthly gathering are a way for our
MPL members to connect with one another and also receive a biblical
based teaching targeted specifically for leaders in the Market Place. We
encourage our members to build deep life on life relationships with
other market place leaders who often experience the same situations
through the formation of these life groups. A mentor, accountability
partner, Christian brother or sister is one way to help our members
succeed at home, business, and in life through biblical council.
Impact Communities

In keeping with the heart of New Hope Oahu, the Market Place
Leadership seeks to find opportunities to make a difference in our
very own back yard. Each year, the MPL will host and conduct several
community service projects in an effort to use the resources and
market place connections that God has blessed our leaders with. As
leaders and managers of the marketplace, it is our responsibility to
support and care for those in our community who may be struggling.
At MPL we seek to impact our own community by proving hope to
those seeking assistance.
Provide Mentorship
f o r Yo u n g L e a d e r s
4 The MPL mentorship program is our way of helping to equip and train
our future Christian Market Place leaders. This mentorship program
provides an opportunity for our MPL members to serve as mentors
and life coaches to the young leaders within our congregation and
students at Pacific Rim Christian college. Through this partnership, we
have not only provided a way for our students to obtain an internship
and shadowing experience, but have also helped to support our MPL

leaders who may need assistance in specific areas of their business. It
is important that we invest in our young adults today so that the next
generation of market place leaders will have a solid foundation based on
hard work and biblical values.
