FOREWORD

This Self Learning Kit (SLK) is intended for our


learners with special education needs under the Autism
Spectrum. All the activities are prepare according to
their special capabilities.

A good result of using this material can be


achieved with collaboration of parents or guardian .

The Department of Education makes sure that no


learners are left behind and no boundaries can hinder
educating every learner in our country. Developing this
kind of Self Learning Kit (SLK) can help a learner to grow
in his potential to be a good and productive individual in
the future.

One day, Mom asked Lino to visit his cousin. As they are

walking, they saw their neighbour who is celebrating his

birthday. They are invited to come inside the house. Mom said

“Lino, we are going to sing a Birthday song for Xander.”

As they are singing, the little boy smiled in front of his

“Lino, he is mom said. Lino whispered.

At the party, they saw his cousins playing a but

later on they are over a Lino asked,

“Why is Xander ?”

“He is because his brother grabbed his .

Remember, Lino, it is not good to get someone’s

After awhile, they arrived at Lino’s cousin’s

house. Lino saw his baby cousin , Emma. “Lino, give

this to her, Mom said .” Lino look at your

baby cousin. She is .“ Lino looks at her cousin

and said . .

While this is happening, Lino heard her mother say

“Oh no! Look at her now Lino. Somebody took her

away.” Mom said. “Who took her ? ”

Lino asked. “It is her brother. Remember, Lino, it is not

good to steal someone else’s thing. And now your

baby cousin is frowning, meaning , she is “

mother said. And he repeated the word .

After their long walk, they rested for a little

while and as the night approaches, Lino noticed,

that something is bothering his little cousin. He

pointed him to his mom. And mom went to the

little boy and asked, “What is the matter?” mother

said. And he pointed to a room in the

house. “Ahhh, I see. Do not be , there is

nothing to be of in there. We just need

to turn on the light. Lino, did you see what

happened? He was of the

room. And he repeated the word . “It is

dark already , Lino. Let’s go home. Tomorrow we

will visit your cousins again and see how they feel .

SYNOPSIS
All of us feel different emotions. This is how we express
ourselves. Being happy, sad, scared, surprised and angry will
determine what kind of day we will have.
And it is really important to know different emotions so we
can give support to those who are in need of help.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR

ALICIA S. CORTEZ– A graduate from Bulacan State University


who took Bachelor in Elementary Education major in Work
Education. She also took a Specialization Certification course
in Special Education from ACADEV Training Center under the
license of Rabbi Theological Seminary And International
Ministries Incorporated. She is a Special Education Teacher l in
Segundo Esguerra Sr. Memorial Elementary School.

ZARAH M. MENCHATE- A graduate from Baliuag University


formerly Baliuag Colleges with a Bachelor degree In
Elementary Education . She took a Specialization
Certification course in Special Education from ACADEV
Training Center under the license of Rabbi Theological
Seminary and International Ministries Incorporated. At present
she is working as a Special Education Teacher l in Pulilan
Central School.
